I've been on a huge American Baby kick lately. I've got it on my gym mix (fenway), and I'm absolutely loving the ending jam. This has got to be my favorite 'single' since crush. I'm glad they don't over play it, but I hope it doesn't go away (only 5/53 this summer. Nothing after august first). What a great short burst of energy.

and I :rawk that improv line.

Oh the ending of American Baby is fantastic. I've liked the song since day one and unlike most of the other SU songs, I haven't grown tired of it.

I don't mind AB or HFTGL at all. I don't listen to them on purpose but I don't mind them.

That's a great line in a really great version. :upyours

Probably the most pleasant surprise of that whole release is how good the outro on that is, thanks to both Dave and the horns.

I love this song. Someone mentioned Hunger above, listening to BOWA reminded me that I really like the studio version and I dislike the live versions. The live versions have the energy, but it's just so bland. The studio version is a lot more dynamic, the way the electric and Carter fade in, the way Dave sings...

i'm a big fan of AB too... their performance on Letterman was classic and the ending definitely is a fast favorite of mine. loved it at starlake in '05 and it was a treat to hear at fenway too.

The Letterman performance was the first video of the song I saw. I immediately liked it. It's not a favorite of mine or anything but I like it and I won't complain about getting it live.

i like the tune, i just wish dave wouldn't "sing" in the outro, and let Roi do his thing.

American Baby was one of the few things I liked about Stand Up. Dave's vocals on this track are top notch, and the end jam is fantastic. The one version I heard live was dissapointing though. 7-27-05 at Darien. Granted that whole show was pretty dissapointing

Was placed well at Fenway. Lots of SU can sound good if they are placed well.

American Baby is probably my second favorite Stand Up song, after Bayou.

I was really never a fan until this year. It wasn't on my list of Stand Up songs I'd enjoy live, but now it's made its way on.

ha, i thought u meant there was a video of the manchester perfomance. i'm not a fan of the music vid. the whole white house and school kids thing at the start always struck me as uhh semi corny.
