I fixed the image I uploaded earlier. I don't know if anyone noticed but there was about a 1 pixel wide white border around the image where my hand slipped when I was cropping it. Well it annoyed me enough looking at the artwork in cover flow that I decided to re-do it haha.

I can't do the DMBlive ones because they don't have the pdf on the site that you can just crop. I don't know how you get big images of those. All the ones with the pdfs are easy though, like the LT. I just zoom in, take a snapshot and crop it.

I do the same thing. With the DMBlive series I guess you have to use a trace program.

Goodness, I really need to figure out something to replace the flickr page. Or fix it.

Re those of you using 1000x1000 album art... why on earth are you doing this? You're just increasing your file size. On an iPod or phone you can't tell the difference.

iTunes and Amazon music store standard is 600x600, 72dpi, which looks great on screen. The files I make are less compressed than theirs, so they look a bit sharper, but it's silly to go with higher resolution.

If you want to study the art in detail, save larger scans separately, but don't embed that in your files... remember, if you've got a 100KB art file on a 12 track album, you've just filled 1.2MB of your hard drive or player with artwork. With a big library, artwork adds up. Don't be any more excessive than you have to.

Some of the artwork on AlbumArtExchange is ridiculously huge. The people who actually use that stuff are crazy.

Just my advice.

Such a mess trying to get it, especially with iTunes Match. Had to delete the existing artwork, rename the album to the exact title of the iTunes version, remove them from iTunes and iCloud losing my play counts (not really a big deal) then re-add them to iTunes, download the new art, and re-match them to iTunes Match.

I've never understood the point of png files. They take up like 20x more space than jpeg and look identical. It also seems as though you can't embed them in OGG files. Also when you resize a png it loses some integrity.... Thats why the 600 that was just uploaded is only 471 KB. I have an original 800 x 712 png scan and it's 2.56 MB. Just saying.
