4 tickets kills location
think about it
if the floor has 500 seats and you could order 2
then 250 people got on the floor
if you can order 4 then only 125 can get on the floor
of course not everyone will order 4 but many will and did

the bigger picture is how many people end up with nothing
in a 20k seat venue, lets assume the wh gets half
thats 5000 people at 2 tix or 2500 at 4

if you are one of the 2500 who got declined you would be pissed

Because it's a hometown show around the release of an album and there are a lot more important people than you planning to attend. Family, friends, associates, management, clients, label people, staff, etc etc etc. Consider yourself lucky to be in the 100s.

I requested 2 tix to Cville n1 and n2 shows and got 312 A and 314 A respectively. I did expect to do better than that on a seniority night. I am a Jan 00 member.

I got 108 for the 06 shows so am a little surprised how badly i did this year.

I have connections though so we shall see where I actually end up!

So was the conclusion that getting 4 tickets negatively impacted seat locations or not?

Well, in 2007 I got 2 tickets to IZOD thru the WH - they were section 201, row 1. This year I got 4 tickets to IZOD thru the WH and they're in section 233, row 6. (I joined the WH in March of '06.) So, I'm closer to the stage, but on the side.

willndmb

So was the conclusion that getting 4 tickets negatively impacted seat locations or not?

of course overall it did
msg for sure
lets assume the wh has 10000 seats and member could get 2 tix, thats 5000 who got tix
now lets assume everyone ordered 4 vs 2 (which of course not everyone did but for the sake of discussion) only 2500 people would get tix

besides the number of people who got tix was lower the locations are worse because for every 4 tix ordered they are pushed back 2 seats
example
lets say each row has 40 seats
at 2 tix 20 people got front row at 4 only 10 get front row and the second set of 10 got the second row
the 20 who usually got 2nd row now got 3rd or 4th row

Thanks, I definitely understand that. I was wondering if you were basically penalized with worse locations for ordering 4 seats, doesn't sound like that is the case. It sounds like overall seats are worse because of people with good seniority ordering 4, but for any given order your seats should be basically the same within a row or two whether you order 2 or 4 tickets.

for about 3 weeks they have been telling people they will be up within the week. Look at the email to thenoise above. That is what you would have gotten last week, and you would get right now.

Its really not that big of a deal to me when we get locations, as long as its before the show -- but I always kind of wonder how legal this practice is. We paid money for something, and the WH is essentially refusing to disclose exactly what we bought. Doesn't that fall under some buyer rights or something? Not trying to start anything, I'm just wondering.

nah, it's part of the user agreement i'm sure. when you click i have read and understand you're probably saying exactly that 'i agree to pay for these now knowing that i will not know locations right away.'

i may look into this later on. just out of curiosity. as stated above i also dont care...just as long as i have them before the show...but it does look like they are waiting a long time this time around. its not like holding locations really helps stop the scalping process. without the actual ticket locations are worthless.

Actually, alot of scalpers will sell the ticket based on the location.. and then deliver the ticket once it is available to them. In the details section of the tickets online they'll put something like "In hand on xx/2009" or "delivery guaranteed before show" etc etc. So holding the locations narrows the amount of time the scalper has to advertise and find a buyer. With that said.. it's anybody's guess as to how effective that is in deterring scalping.

No doubt though it is such a pain in the ass for us fans. Past few years the Warehouse has given me really damn good seats.. but there always is the fear I'll get crap and the opportunity to upgrade will have disappeared. My friends pulled some sick Jones Beach tickets a few weeks ago for example.. I pray I don't regret not getting tickets with them.

yeah. in the end im just happy to be there, and with only being a 2006 member, im ususally in the upper parts of a venue, but of my past 11 shows (mostly in the back of a venue) i havent had a bad seat or a bad time yet. I still am hoping to get closer seats one of these shows though :)

they should really just make seat locations when you get them in mail the way it was originally. As much as I like to know then ahead of time, I would prefer they do whatever they can to prevent sclaping, insane trading.

THE REMAINDER OF THE SUMMER TOUR SEATING ASSIGNMENTS WILL BE POSTED WITHIN THE NEXT WEEK OR SO. A “CHECK” LINK WILL APPEAR UNDER THE SEAT LOCATION COLUMN OF THE TICKET STATUS PAGE AND WE WILL POST A NEWS ITEM TO THE TICKETING NEWS PAGE! WE APPRECIATE YOUR PATIENCE!

:rolleyes

I wish they would just give us a date. If it's 2-3 weeks away, fine, at least we have a solid date. No more of this "next week . . . or whenever" crap.

Does it matter where your seats are at Darien? The flow of liquid turds washes everyone towards the stage anyways.

eh, got 120 for Cuse...not great, but the place is small enough where it probably won't matter.

I think it all has to do with the fact fact that it is a baseball stadium. The center seats are way back and the side seats are close. I really think these are the "good" tickets
