Venue Information:
Blossom Music Center is an amphitheatre located in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. It is the summer home of the Cleveland Orchestra, which performs its annual Blossom Festival there. The venue is also host to a full summer schedule of popular music acts and symphonic performances.

Blossom Music Center is named after the family of Dudley S. Blossom, who served as president of the Cleveland Orchestra from 1936 to 1938. The site's natural parabolic setting, the pavilion's sloping wooden roof, and the area's natural wooded surroundings distinguish it from other contemporary amphitheatres. The facility, designed by architect Peter van Dijk, is located on 800 acres (3 km²) of natural woods inside the Cuyahoga Valley National Park, about 10 miles (16 km) north of downtown Akron and 33 miles (53 km) south of downtown Cleveland. There are currently plans to sell Blossom's undeveloped acreage (580 acres) to the National Park Service to add to the park. This would financially benefit the owners and serve to protect the natural setting of Blossom. In 2003, the venue underwent a $17 million renovation. The pavilion seats 5,700 people, with space for about 13,500 more on the lawn.

The Box Office at Blossom is open every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM, beginning Friday, June 1st and running thru Labor Day weekend. On show days, the box office opens 2 1/2 hours before show time.

The Box Office accepts cash, checks, Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover.

Parking:
Parking is free and at a first come, first served basis. It is to your advantage to arrive early. Gates open two hours before show time.

Handicapped parking is available. Display your ADA placard to the parking attendant and you will be directed to the closest available spot.

From Cleveland and West: Take I-71 South to Route 303 East
(Brunswick Exit). Turn left on Rt. 303 and
follow past the old Richfield Coliseum.
Turn right on Akron Peninsula Rd., then left onto Steels Corners Rd.
Blossom is on the left.

From Cleveland Hopkins Airport: Take I-71 South to the Ohio Turnpike
(I-80 East).
Take Route 8 South (Exit 12) to West Steels Corners Rd.
Turn Right on Steels Corners. Blossom is 3 1/2 miles on the right.

From Downtown Cleveland and Suburbs: Take I-77 south to exit 143
(Wheatley Rd.). Turn left on Wheatley and follow until it deadends
into Riverview Rd. Turn Right on Riverview, left on Bolanz, right on
Akron-Peninsula and left on Steels Corners Rd. Blossom is on the left.

From Cleveland and Southeast Suburbs: Take I-271 South to 8 South
(Exit 12). From Rt. 8, turn right onto Steels Corners Rd. and
follow to Blossom.

North to Blossom I-77
From Montrose, West Akron: Take I-77 North to Rt. 18 East. Take 18 East to Smith Rd. Turn left on Smith,
follow until it deadends into Riverview Rd. Turn left on Riverview, right on W. Bath and follow to
Akron-Peninsula Rd. Turn left on Akron-Peninsula then right onto W. Steels Corners. Blossom is on the left.

From Canton, Akron: Take I-77 North to Rt. 8 North. Turn left at Steels Corners exit. Blossom is 3 * miles on

From Columbus: Take I-71 North to I-271 North. Exit I-271 at Route 303 East. Follow 303 East to
Akron-Peninsula Rd. and turn right. Follow to Steels Corners Rd. and turn left. Blossom is on the left.

East to Blossom I-76
From Wadsworth, Norton: Take I-76 East to Old Rt. 21 North to Rt. 18 East. Turn right on Rt. 18, left on
Smith Rd., and follow until it deadends onto Riverview. Turn left on Riverview, right on W. Bath, left on

From West Suburbs: Take Broadview or Brecksville Rd. to Rt. 303 East. Follow 303 past the old Richfield

Yeah, I've always wanted to make the trip. It's the day before my birthday and I think as long as I have the funds I could drive to Pittsburgh on Thursday afternoon....drive to Blossom friday afternoon, stay over somewhere near the venue, and drive back to Pittsburgh on Saturday, drive back to Scranton on Sunday.

Back in 04, I think, Dave said that he thought the venue was beautiful and he loved the sound in the pavilion. You'd think if that were true we'd get better shows.

2008 was better i think. the 05/06/07 run was ROUGH but the other years have been average for the tour. just so nice to finally get a weekend. i'm getting old :lol

Driving to Pittsburgh on Thursday, driving to Akron on Friday, checking into a hotel, going to the show, staying the night, going to the RnR Hall of Fame on Saturday (my birthday) for Michael Jackson Weekend, then driving back to Pittsburgh on Saturday night. kylebond13, if you see this: I've been trying to PM you Directions to Blossom but your PM Box is full. its getting close to the show, so i'll post the directions here

if you're staying at a hotel on/around springside Dr, take Springside Drive (left out of the hotel, headed opposite of route 18) to Cleveland Massillon Road. When you get to that intersection, make a left on cleveland massilon road. You'll come to an intersection after a short distance in which you can continue Left onto Clev. Mass or turn right onto Ghent Rd., Make sure you stay left...within 1000 feet of staying left on Cleveland Massilon Rd, you'll come to a traffic light and see a Circle K Gas Station on the right hand side, Make a RIGHT onto Yellow Creek Rd at that intersection. Once on yellow creek, try too keep within 45MPH as the speed limit is 40 and there are a lot of blind corners and cops on that road. Maybe a mile or two down Yellow Creek, you'll come to a 3-way stop/intersection, go LEFT. Upon going to the left, the road then turns into BATH ROAD. You'll come down a hill with a sharp right hand corner and go over Rail Road tracks within 500 feet. Immediately after the Railroad tracks is an intersection (riverview road). Go through the intersection and continue on Bath Road. Once through the intersection, you'll see a pull off spot on the left side (usually there's cars there and people are looking at Blue Herron Birds that nest across from the pull-off). Coming almost immediately will be another traffic light/intersection. This is Akron-Peninsula Road, you'll make a left onto it at the light. Once on Akron peninula road, you'll see a metro park about 500 feet down on the right hand side, once you see that, throw on your blinker and get ready to turn right onto Steels Corners Rd as it comes within a few hundred feet of the metro park. Once you turn right (the only way to turn onto Steels Corners), you'll be headed up a steep incline, after the hill theres 2-3 sharp turns, the last one being a long sweeping right hander. Once past that curve, get in the left lane and the entrance to Blossom is on the left!

:upyours Warehouse hasn't been played at Blossom since 04, I believe. I'd love to get it. I really want Recently, though, even if it's a partial. I've never seen it live and it's one of my favs. It was only played once at Blossom, in 95, and that was truncated but it did segue into water/wine. That would have been my first show had my parents not decided to schedule the family vacation for that week. :(
