I got a Kindle for my birthday and it's re...um...kindled my interest in reading. I'm currently about 2/3 through 11/22/63 by Stephen King and it's just fantastic. Looking for a follow up as I'll be done within a couple of days. Anyone currently reading anything good?

I couldn't buy into the love story in 11/22/63. It felt melodramatic.

Just finished Blood Meridian by Cormac Maccarthy, and I just started The Violent Bear It Away by Flannery O'Connor. Both really good, but I enjoy the latter more so far.

McCarthy is an interesting writer, I like some of his stuff a lot, others not so much

I have the same issue...I've read three books by him so far, loved Blood Meridian, thought another was pretty good and hated the other (All the Pretty Horses). I don't think that's happened with me with any other author.

The Genesis Code by John Case

One of my favorite books ever.

Child of God is a great, short novel.

I've also read Blood Meridian. Magnificent. I had a thought recently that its style would fit Terrence Malick's skills.

I didn't enjoy No Country for Old Men. The film is much better. But The Road? The book is better.

He's one of the more unique authors out there.
