From the homepage of the almanac:

"In a collaborative effort with Adam Nelson and drreamingtree.org, Henry Hart and the dmbalmanac staff are working on releasing a number of new shows to the DMB live music fanbase. Adam has worked hard at getting some live shows reaquired after liquidating his collection in 2001 and we are all most greatful. Some of these shows include 12.1.96, 3.24.92, 1.30.95, and 3.1.95 with many more to come. Henry has 4 DVD-R's full of .flac16 conversions to verify and seed, so be patient. Head over to dreamingtree.org and read up on how to download torrents and help seed these amazing shows. Thank you Adam and dreamingtree and happy listening!"

I really love this performance.

1/30/95 is a good show, and one of those early '95 shows that kinda show you exactly why DMB went from small clubs like Lupos to Amphitheatres like Blossom. Ants from this show was used as the live cut for the Ants promo.

I think a lot of what was currently out there from 1/30/95 was incomplete. Maybe that's the reasoning.

1/30/95 is rare? i had that show for yrs till about a yr ago when i got rid of 99% of my cds

since people have started spreading only digital sources, a lot of older shows and sources aren't spread any more. I had a shitty (shitty) 7.28.98 that was digital, and I threw it out. That was before I came to the realization that was all there was. Now I regret it.

This date may be off. Although the SMTS fits the time period, the Minarets does not exactly fit. Additionally, Help Myself, LIOG, and PFWYG would be very new at this time, but Dave makes no mention of them (Dave has later referenced Help Myself as new). Also, The Satellite lyrics are as they are now, whereas 10 days prior, they were quite different.

yea, some of those tracks are used on R2Things. They also did a three night stand there 8-1,2,3-94. It looks like two of those are going to get sourced here.

A few of these are already out to the public, most are not. It will take some time and investigative work to convert and verify these sources and enjoy spending the time to bring this all to you. The core dmbalmanac staff loves talking old shows and tid-bit info we hear on recordings and we can't wait to hear some of these shows. A big thanks again to Adam Nelson and his contacts for getting these shows to us and another big thanks to dreamingtree.org for creating a forum for shows to be easily distributed through the DMB community. Happy listening!

These are all awesome for dave and tim fans:

02/02/96, 02/16/96, 01/20/99, 01/23/99, 01/24/99 (if this is the super tight source that doesn't spread and I lost my discs), 02/16/99, 02/27/99, 02/28/99, 03/05/99, 03/09/99 (hopefully this is Bonnie Harris' Schoeps tape, which I hace and is really tasty during the music. The crowd sucks though).

since people have started spreading only digital sources, a lot of older shows and sources aren't spread any more. I had a shitty (shitty) 7.28.98 that was digital, and I threw it out. That was before I came to the realization that was all there was. Now I regret it.

if you need a copy of that show, i can help you out.

Seems to be a bunch available on DT now...

These rare older shows have been collected and converted through a collaborative effort to get them into circulation. Sometimes these shows do not have the best sound quality (and maybe that's why they aren't circulated much to begin with), but people should have access to them.

I'm really excited to see 8/10/93 finally get circulated. The beginning of that show is pretty funny. Dave breaks a string on Watchtower and then plays IBYU and there is some PA interference and you can here Dave say "it's all fuckin' up now, aint it!?". Kinda funny. Plus as was mentioned it's got Recently and Ants that were used for R2T.

I used to have the analog of this years ago.

That show, 8-17-93 and 11-29-93 are the ones I'm really looking forward to just sitting back and listening to, especially 11-29-93--that's gonna be fun with Dave and Tim as the fist set and DMB as the second.

Dreamingtree.org is experiencing technical difficulties with the new server!

If you are reading this you are connected to the old server.

Note: Torrents and forum posts submitted to the older server at the present time may not appear on the new server. Will they ever get moved to the new server? Most likely not.

Due to this, I would recommend members NOT submit new torrents and/or forum posts.

Sorry for the inconvenience. Please know this is all in good efforts to bring forth a better experience here on Dreamingtree.org.

I'm not sure what kind of maintence they were doing, but if they changed the IP then it will take a few days for it to propagate to your ISP.

Their IP was http://199.224.117.240 which for me says "the site is down for maintenance we will be back shortly." dreamingtree.org works fine for me though. I suspect they changed IPs in which case it should work for you in a day or two.

My interpretation of the trading policy has always been that SBD patches were not allowed after 95, but it doesn't specifically prohibit the trading or discussion of post 95 SBD tapes. Of course this is just my interpretation and I can understand being safe rather than sorry.

Actually the distribution of any post '95 sbd is prohibted and widely looked down on by DMB and Co. That means, trading, or spreading of any kind. It was a good and fun thread but with the few people offering to distribute post '95 sbd's just doesn't bode well with an open forum such as this.

Brandon, can I ask why exactly it's that way? I have always understood that that is the policy but never gave much thought to why that is how it is. Do they just not want people ripping off their good sounding quality tapes to distribute for profit? And if so, why don't they give a crap about any pre '95 SBD shows? Was it just at that point in time they completely revamped their sound system and rig and decided to change the taping / trading policy along with it?

It really wasn't DMB per se, rather it was RCA that was putting the stronghold on the band to prohibit any SBD's being spread in fear of losing money from future album releases. Notice we can still trade and distribute 1995 SBD's but not that many exist. By that time DMB were touring the country and overseas promoting UTTAD and RCA was backing that tour so it was really up to them.

Along with cracking down on the sale of bootlegs back in the mid-late 90's, there was also a crackdown on certain fan sites that were hosting MP3's of SBD performances post '95. I GUESS the reasoning behind the stoppage of the spread of the post '95 sbds(even through trading) is to also prevent more bootlegs from popping up.

It kinda goes hand-in-hand with Pro-Shot videos, although that's a bigger fish that the DMB camp is focused on frying.
