out of curiosity...what blue?

The default color:

http://img294.imageshack.us/img294/7071/office2007xl7.jpg (http://imageshack.us)

But you can change it to black or silver via options> mail format> editor options

Thats for outlook obviously. But once you change it in one program it changes it for them all.

Come on, OpenOffice is YEARS behind MS Office.

:lol

Come on, OpenOffice is YEARS behind MS Office.

In features absolutely. But OpenOffice is highly reliable, which is more than Microsoft can say about any part of its Office suite. In addition to using an open, portable format, OOo also does not suffer from the Microsoft formatting glitches, which I really appreciate. I want to spend my time writing, not styling. I agree that it's not the prettiest thing to look at, but from a purely functional perspective it's hard to beat imho.

I'm eagerly awaiting the OOo Bibliography tool that is due in 2007.

Thought I would add this in here.

MS have released a 'save to pdf' add-on for Word 2007. I love this feature in Open office so it's nice to have it there.

The ms link is http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=4d951911-3e7e-4ae6-b059-a2e79ed87041&DisplayLang=en

Now, you have to validate the download so you can prove your office is genuine...but if for any reason that wont work...:nono here's the direct link on the site. :)

http://download.microsoft.com/download/f/4/b/f4bfd843-a0b6-4031-aa98-0a3db7403d0f/SaveAsPDFandXPS.exe

Installed it from that, works nicely.

How does the automatic Works Cited work? Does it connect to an online database to find the information on books? What's the minimum that you have to type in? Or does it just correctly format it for you based on your filling out fields?

Where can I find the register key for this thing? I don't know much about downloaded files, is it in there or do I have to get it somewhere else?

Wescoast

on torrents there should be an extra document file with the key on it.

it has you write the info in and automatically does it. it also does automatic bibliography with all sources used. man i would have loved it at school.

As far as the automatic citations I think I'll still be using www.refworks.com. I don't know if I would pay for it but it works quite nicely and sounds like it's similar to Word. I just really don't want to have to import all my refworks stuff into Word.
