I just sitting here at work, surfing on wireless...and wow do I take the internet for granted!

So much information. How does it get to my computer? THERE ARE NO WIRES. I cannot handle this at all, guys.

I know, what the EFF?

How can a song just magically travel through the air and end up safe and sound on my hard drive?

Yeah, but I'm looking around and I'm seeing nothing floating in mid-air and into the cracks of my computer.

It really is crazy. Even with wires how do people program wires to do whatever they want them to.

even though this is a 4 year old post, here goes...

I remember using a 14.4 to download a Doom .wad file and it taking hours upon hours, and when ever someone called the house it would start over since call waiting wasnt around.

I remember using Apogee and Prodigy to go online.

I remember when running winamp to play an mp3 meant having to shut down my browser because it would skip otherwise... and only being able to get mp3s from irc bots...

jesus alot changed

I remember having to leave our computer online for 2 days + to upadte AOL with dial-up, which also meant we got no phone calls for 2 days.

Yeah I was on prodigy in the early 90s too. Had a 2400 baud modem.. literally took an hour to download a 1mb file from my buddy's BBS. Crazy to think about now since 1mb in a second is commonplace now.

Why would a call to the house drop you offline if there was no call waiting? The caller should just get a busy signal..

I don't know why we didn't have a disc. And yeah I was around 10... I remember we finally got broadband around 2001. Rocked it on the 'ole win 98 machine :rawk

I remember when pictures would load at the same speed it takes to download a music album to your computer today.
