holy crap. :upyours
im sure this has been discussed, but as i havent wandered over to dmbc in months, i havent seen. anyway, just got this song only off the encore disc torrent, and wow. absolutely phenomenal. hadnt listened to dmb in ages, and this is now the only song on my comp, but its fantastic. definitely evokes some nostalgia of what used to be so good and so right with this band. not trying to say theyre 'over' at all, but damn, those were the days, and its great to finally have a perfected audio copy of this specific version of this song. im pretty sure everyone on stage for this is about as 'on' as can be. :banana :rawk :nod :smoke :zaphod :toocool :coolguy :beer

the 2006 versions with the flecktones were just as good, there is nothing wrong with live dmb besides some questionable set choices.

but yeah, that BOWA version is definitely amazing.

Since 2002 I always wanted to see DMB with the Flecktones. Randall's this year was a special time.

They were good, but in no way do they compare to 4.20.02.

and 4/20/02 in no way compares to 11.21.98... once it gets to that level, they are all amazing.. im just saying using #41 with the flecktones for how the band has lost anything is rediculous because this years versions were also amazing.

it was boring.

It was Jimi. It was slightly interesting though. I just can't help but think of Seek Up being cut.

It's not a question of if they are good or not, it's just that it's the same progression into Sojourn every time. 8 years ago, when I was younger, I heard it I think4 or 5 nights in a row. It got old then, what about something new. It's almost as if it's composed. 12/8/98 wins me over though, from the outro alone.

12.08.98

[outro]
maybe i will wait for you here
maybe i will hold you
maybe i will wait
maybe i will go in
maybe i will wait for you
and baby i will go there too
and maybe i will hold you up when your down
and maybe i will run like a scared scared child away
and maybe i will reach up
and maybe i will pray for you not to go
maybe i will
maybe i won't
you don't know
don't know
don't know

The fact that this song and 12-31-96 were officially released within two months of each other is freaking mind blowing.

Great stuff.

the #41 from 12.8.98 is shorter, no? and the outro between the dave speak and whole "looooooove satisfy" deal on 4.20.02 is certainly longer than the "civil war" (title coursey of $gm) outro on 12.8.98, i know #41 from for 4.20.02 will forever be held as epic, but i do think 12.8.98 is right up there, if not better.

in general for full band shows, i'd say victor, i still like the 12-8-98 #41 better though.

edit: and i do believe 12-8-98 features béla, jeff coffin and timmy...

Yeah, and Timmy isn't missed on 4.20.02. 12-8-98 gets my vote
