It looks like the String Cheese Incident is breaking up or at least going on hiatus. One of my buddies told me.

Taken from the website...

After summer 2007, Billy Nershi is leaving The String Cheese Incident to pursue other musical projects. There will be only a limited number of Incidents between now and then. Current plans include Thanksgiving in Atlanta, a New Years Eve blowout in San Francisco, Winter Carnival in Colorado, and a return to Red Rocks. Presently, there are no plans for The String Cheese Incident beyond summer of 2007.
The band would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to our friends and fans for all your support.

I heard they were pretty good, but I've never really listened at all. Always sucks when a band calls it quits, though.

Ah just as well. I think they put on a really fun show, but they have declined in the past years. I saw that at Sasquatch in 02 and it was a real real fun show. And Ben Harper (my favorite) sat in on Superstition.

I now must see Panic and Cheese at Red Rocks next year.

Yeah, this is sad. I mean, they aren't a great band any more, but I always enjoyed incidents...fun shows to just lay back and relax at, ya know? I'm just always bummed when a band calls it quits, and next year I'm losing SCI and Nickel Creek. Sigh.

Their music puts me to sleep...but somehow a bunch of my burn-out hippy pot head friends from college think they are great.
