There's seems to be a ton of mixed opinions on this one. Wondering what the consensus is, now coming off of a year that it was played only a few times this tour and it never closed, which seemed to be most people's gripe.

I always liked What You Are. I don't like it when they beat it in the ground as a closer like in 2002 but it brings solid energy and the lights are always enjoyable. I'd rather see it close than Everyday or Stay at least.

Out of all the times I've seen it, it's only closed once, and was nicely mid-set the other times. So I voted Like it (since I do like the song, and think it only fits well midset).

I used to like it a lot but before I became my jaded self and heard it as a closer 56 too many times. Now, I don't really care for it, but I don't mind it.

Seems like a forced energy song like ABI. Like the riff.

As I have said before, the performance from Camden this year was a nice surprise. It was late in the set and I was certain it was the closer, but there were two more songs after it.

I don't think WYA is forced at all. The outro can be at times, but usually I don't think so. ABI is completely forced though.

I always enjoy the outro when they don't go through the motions with it. I'm easily amused I guess

Like it a lot, it's not top 10 material and I'd rather not see it at every show I go to but it's a very good live song.

With WYA, I hardly ever listen to tapes of it though. It's something I enjoy with I am at a concert, but on tape I skip it.

It's just weird that the vote total was one less than the number of people that had voted, and for some reason, that was my logical explanation.

How do the totals not match?

Voters: 15. You have already voted on this poll

4 + 9 + 2 = 15 where I went to school.

EDIT: And now the numbers are fine, and I look like a crazy fuck. Great. :lol

i can't praise the 4-26-02 outro enough..."i was old and paralyzed with you gone i would dream so softly but maybe if you took the time out, you might get a clue for what you're missing, but i won't wreck you love, wreck you love, right wrong grow ray hope here." something like that. mind blowingly powerful.

hey i tried to call you tonight but it went straight to voicemail. i ended up in section 208 so i figured we might have been close.

No worries; I figured I got no reception in the Faraday cage known as the Dunkin Donuts center (and you were right that you were close heh, I was in the border of 209/210).

Great win, indeed. :upyours

Everyday has just been beaten into the ground so much, but back in '02 when it was freshly reworked, it really was a lot of fun to catch live.

i think some people tend to vote for the party and not for the candidate in this one...i can think of song that dave plays on electric that gets much praise. other than kill the king there are a lot of people who show some serious hate every time dave brings out the electric...at cville n1 i could hear people start to complain as dave picked it up to play so right in the encore before they even knew what he was going to play.

I'm kind of indifferent when it comes to the electric. I neither hate it or like it. I feel it has its place and its time. And WYA is one of those needed moments.

i'm not sure... at first i liked it, then i grew to hate it, and now it's grown on me again. it's not my favorite song in the world or anything, but i like the last two released versions (fenway and bowa).

I love Bayou and Fool to Think on the electric, and So Right is badass.

i liked the spring '02 performances. they were a little more creative with the outros....no mf'er and mid-set. but now, eh, once you've heard one, you've heard them all.

Interesting opinion. Most people are the exact opposite.

The times that I have seen it mid set were

A) Folsom
B) Random other 01-02 show. My memory is a little shot now for remember specific songs at shows :downyours

The taste that song left in my mouth at that time was very bad and I didnt care if it was ever in a set that I saw again. Next time I heard it in a live setting, it was an encore closer and I was blown away by how far it came. Would I have liked to see something else in its place? Sure. But my opinion has changed after that.
