But good lord the 5.19.01 LIOG is outer worldly. He is able to fill/solo throughout the whole song without ever overpowering or sounding too in your face. He perfectly compliments everyone from start to finish.

Well, hate to spoil the fun, but Trey is one of the best things to happen to the guitar in the past 20+ years, keep in mind I said ONE OF THE BEST, imo top notch, he was quoted in saying SDL is one of the best written songs ever, put the two of them together = heaven :hi :hi :hi

I agree with all of that. But there is a certain stigma surrounding his name these days and it seems as if you are either with or again him and what he is doing. I just wanted to seperate myself from that and appreciate the greatness that is 5.19.01's LIOG.

Its funny, I love Trey, saw him 3 times last year, I love him on guitar, Dave doesn't compare in that realm, however together I really think they compliment each other so very well. Get Trey on LIOG or any track with the band, you can't go wrong. It's not a matter of liking one more than the other, they are completely different types of musicians that has to be understood before getting all upset about people liking Trey yet liking dmb, it is possible, I assure you. :banana

for about 3 and a half minutes i think 5.19.01 is some of the best music dmb(and any guest)has ever created but after the climax, those could be some of the most boring 9 minutes or so i've ever heard.

They are a lot better than usually shit Butch plays after Boyd in LIOG.

He is what made the Dave and Freinds tour great. Just his love for playing live and the energy he brings to a stage.

his solo's pre-2003 held a certain magic - whether it was the warmer tone or the build/release mersh was alluding to
