And yes, I know I've made three threads in the last twenty minutes. I'm writing a paper and I'm atleast 6 hours ahead of the majority of this board. Deal with it.

i for one am a big big fan. the lyrics aren't the best, but i've gotten used to them and i think they work for what the song is.

i like it :upyours

I'm torn between liking it and wanting better lyrics. I absolutely love the riff, the song and blow my load over the outro. I could live with the lyrics if they didn't repeat themselves so much. I first heard the song on 6.14 and I knew them all by that weekend at SPAC. That shouldn't be happening. I am going to listen to it a few more times before voting though.

I also don't like how they got rid of the segue from the verse to the outro before Roishawn go nuts. I felt like that was a nice lead in to the outro.

i do really like this song... but i feel it could be a little smoother, especially the transition from the chorus to the outro jam

Donkey Dick is a little stronger than I feel, but I guess it best represents my opinion on this tune.

I like it the way it is however there is almost always improvment that can be made in this case I think that would be musically before lyrically.

I like it, it's another So Right. That's fine with me.

I wouldn't say it completely blows, but it's pretty much your typical DMBatson tune -- uninteresting guitar part, really cheesy lyrics, standard song structure, and then try make up for it with some sort of jam at the end.

I think it's great but bring the bridge back!

Indeed. 6/13 will always be my fave version.

I loved this song the first few weeks after it debuted, but since then the lyrics, somehow, have really started to bother me. Particularly the line, "but I was thinking I'd love to get inside you, girl". I think one day it just struck me how corny the "girl" usage was. Meanwhile, there are still some lyrics I do like in the song, the couple of lame parts have just gotten to me more. I also haven't liked how Dave has insisted on wailing/yelling/rambling through the outro since about halfway through the summer tour.

6.13 is the only version I listen to. I also really wish Dave had experimented with lyrics throughout the summer instead of sticking with those simplistic and kinda shitty ones.

Meh, this song is not the direction I was hoping they would go for the new album. Shotgun, IOY, KTK are where it's at.

KTK was badass and I'm glad I got to hear it twice.

Finally a thread i can say "i was there" for something....don't get much of that at the Canadian shows...not since the flecktones were here in '02

Fucker.

I only went to 3 shows this past summer and I was disappointed that I only heard IOY and Can't Stop (playing this awful song).

if they could fix up the chorus a bit, i'd rank it a little higher. the song is great up to the chorus. just seems a little too cheesy like angel. the opening chords are great. i was there for 6/13 and it was pretty cool to hear at the time. 6/13 is far ahead of the rest of the summer versions and makes fenway fail in comparison.

I don't know if I like this one or KTK the most out of all the Summer songs, but it's one of the two.

And before everyone goes nuts about Shotgun, I have to state that I have had massive issues with BitTorrent stuff lately, and haven't heard a version other than the first one. If anyone felt like upping one of the favorite versions, though, I'd appreciate it.

Not a very good song. The lyrics are awful, the guitar riff isn't very interesting. The horns save the song at the end..but I certainly wouldn't mind this song dissapearing.

Without Rashawn this isn't even a song IMO. So if he's not around I have a feeling the song won't be either.

i really like the song. the music is awesome. i understand its a simple riff, but simple doesnt = bad, and it sounds great on the electric, especially on the outro. i dont really hear the 'lyrics are shitty' argument at all either. my only gripe, like others, is they took away the bridge. it added a lot to an already good song.

id love to hear a studio cut of the song.

hell yes! bring back the bridge. That first version with it was great. They need to stop shortening their songs :nono

It was painfully long and boring with the bridge. I'm glad they cut it.

After getting the LT Fenway shows, i am now in love with this song. The lyrics are ok, but you know we all love the song for Rashawn's solo. I've had this song on repeat in my car for a while now. Easily my 2nd fav new song (shotgun).

Easily the worst of the new songs outside of Can't Stop. The lyrics are downright embarassing. The music is rather generic as well, but I've heard worse.
