yeah we saw this the other day...RCA and capshaw are selling DMBs soul. between the college football stuff and the commercials...i never wanted to see this happen. how nice it would have been had DMB done this little jouney of theirs on their own...grass roots following and in-house production. i can dream i guess.:rant

whats so bad about tv commercials?

i dunno when a major band puts out a greatest hits disc, usually at some point you see a commercial for it.

RCA is promoting a disc. It's really a non-issue.

Besides, remember kids, it gets them out of the RCA contract sooner.

this is true...but whats next? virgin? this departure from RCA is a great thing (when it happens) but it does not gaurantee a damn thing...hoping for a new or different direction just because RCA goes away is being very optimistic.(even for myself) :ponder

Because there was a commercial? I bought it for the live disc/encore disc. Hell, if you had pre-ordered and sold the encore cd on ebay by itself you would have broke even and had the 2 discs for free.

I illegally download everything that's not a studio disc...

Sorry, RCA.

If they leave RCA, they're not going to sign with another major label. They'll go it themselves, if it does happen.

I don't know about that, doubt they could handle such a task themselves. It would be VERY expensive and VERY time consuming for them to put out a major release themselves. I'd see them getting on with someone else and negotiating a better contract before that.

yeah im not so sure about that. the days of the major label are numbered. (in its current form) but im not sure DMB is the band to start proving that. who knows. i certainly would be much stoked on a self produced non major label release. :rawk holy shit. but not yet...i dont think.
