View Full Version : Honestly, how great was JTR this summer

I mean, wow. I just listened to 6.20 for the first time in a while, and that song blew me away. I remembered how absolutly crazy it was and how I was thinking it might actually close because of how intense it was, but it was no different from any other.

In general, this song is great. The lyrics and that guitar riff make this such a great song. Plus Roi's flute in the beginning this year was an excellent touch.

I just had to post my love for this song.

I agree. Even though I didn't hear it live, I'm so happy to have it back.

And I'll be even happier if it stays.

It didn't even matter for me. I caught two first leg shows and the tour closers and still missed out on most of everything that was brought back this tour. :lol

I did see Hunger a bunch of times though, so that was real neat.

I remember saying earlier in the Jazzfest set thread as a joke that it would be in such awful taste to bring back JTR in New Orleans (rain down on me)...and then they did and I lost it laughing.

I was looking so forward to this song, then didn't see it in four shows. I really hope they start the show on the west coast next summer. Or at least choose some songs to debut out here.

Went to 3 shows in leg 1, and didn't get JTR.
Didn't get it at the 2-nighter of Randall's either. Or the 2-nighter of Denver.
However, the random spur-of-the-moment trip I made to Blossom on August 2nd was a great decision.

I hope people appreciated this song this summer. I honestly think if it doesnt make the album, that we arent going to see it much in rotation for a while

And the chances of this making an album are slim to me. I just dont see this as something that would fit into that particular producers line of music.

For some reason, this is one of the universally liked songs that never clicked with me. I find myself pretty much bored with it until the end jam. Glad it's back though. If nothing else, just for the sake of another song thrown into the rotation.

I think it's got a good chance for the new album. If it doesn't make it, we'll probably never see it again. REALLY bad sign that they gave up on it pretty much after June.

The boards have been speculating on other songs hard for years too. Granny, KI, 36 (well of course now...) always get a mention everytime a new album is in the works.

I don't get why people are opposed to DMB putting older/unreleased tracks on the next album. What do you think most DMB albums were up of until Everyday? I think you know where I'm going with that...

Great song for sure, glad to see it back again. Never thought that would happen but sure enough it shows up. It's missing just one note though. One note that I always hear in my head but they stopped playing at the shows. It's a tiny insignifigant thing, but I just keep expecting to hear it and then it doesn't show up. It's around 2:44 or 2:43 in the original Lillywhite session version, right before the chorus. It's Roi's and rashawns pops during the song right after the verse.

It's hard to describe exactly what it is, but if it's stuck out to anyone else then they'll know what I'm talkin' about.

I'm not bitching though, far from it, just something that's stood out that my ear expects to hear and then doesn't.
