Might only have 3 or 4 shows a season, but they make a killing on them since their all huge shows. Doubt it will go be closing any time soon

I've heard this since 99. It's not going to happen.

n1 of 06, was not so good, but the last stop made up for it. I was shocked to hear it.

everything about night 2 made up for night one. and i really enjoyed myself at night 1, it was a hits show, but well played. the light rain was fun, i thought it was going to unload on us, but it held off until that next morning.

being there i thought night 1 was sort of weak, but then when i got the shows on cd and listened to it, my opinion changed.

:upyours After night 1, i found myself thinking that it was a pretty shitty setlist, but wondering why I wasn't at all dissapointed with the show

I enjoyed both nights, especially considering the way N1 set up N2. Knowing the way DMB is, if N1 wasn't like that, N2 couldn't have been like it was.

I remember Alpine had a year in the early 90's when it had (I think) only one show and it did almost shut down. There were also problems with acts not getting their full pay. It has changed hands since then and it is not going anywhere for the time being. I am sure urban sprawl will challange it one day.

didn't alpine release a statement last year saying that the reason for it's small number of show have something to do with live nation taking over and that confused things?

I think they don't have that many shows there because very few bands can actually fill that place up right now. There has been an overcapacity of Jam Bands and no Band is making it Big yet to the level of the Grateful Dead or Phish.

yes, that is the problem with concerts at alpine. there are not many bands out there right now that could fill that up, so they will not play there. but the few shows alpine gets a year they make enough money to keep it open.
