They haven't been there for 9 years....you can't expect a huge parade for them. They need to rebuild what they started in the mid-late 90's over there. This will just be the beginning.

its good to be optimistic about this. I think the late 90's thing fizzled for a reason.

It fizzled because of what happened in Sept of '01 and then DMB scrapped their European tour. Had they stuck with their plan and when over there in '01, things may have been different. After they dtiched the idea of touring overseas 6 years ago, they're name just drifted off over there. This is a chance to rebuild that. It won't take albums, it will take shows, performances, little mini-tours or strings of shows like this. That's what will get them back in the hearts of the people over there.

I was thinking something like in '04 how they started mid-late June. Or maybe do a relatively short summer tour (major stops and the like), then go chill for a couple of months, tidy up anything if needed on the CD, and then come out for a promo tour that Winter.

All confirmed ticket orders for the Dave Matthews Denmark show and Dave Matthews Band European shows will be held at the venue box office for pick up on the evening of the show. I'm tryin not to bitch because I am very tempted. Wembley is AWFUL for concerts... but, this will be my first DMB show so I'm excited for the news.

I feel like the band didnt want to do a full tour here just yet, for whatever reasons, so they are playing a venue to accomidate ALL the UK fans. Which is strange, but whatever. I mean, if Dave cant sell out his own solo UK tour in 2 - 4,000 capacity venue this must be the only reason an arena has been booked.

I also hope that they give us the 'full' show. Lights, support, length. I remember Dave commenting on giving us a 'watered down' full band show which would really piss me off. Especially at £44 a ticket [I paid less for Paul McCartney who really could charge more].

And my last little bitch about all this... I hope seneority is given to UK fans first. I KNOW THIS MAY PISS SOME OF THE US FANS OFF... but come on, it'll have been just over 8 or so years since they last came here as a band. I think we deserve it. Though I dont know why any US fans would wanna see DMB play here. I'd rather go to Aus with the smaller venues. [HINT HINT ;) ] I mean, dont you see DMB in venues this size in the States at the moment?

But all in all... I'll be hitting the London and Dublin shows anyway and I cant wait.

And I'll stop my moaning now... maybe. :lol

I dont know. I've never sat at the place other than for comedy shows [Lee Evans and Eddie Izzard], but the seating is quite vast. I'd be pissed if I had to sit at the back of the arena as you cant see a thing from there. If you're in the front few blocks I'd be happy to sit. BUT, they have a dividing rail at the Arena now to seperate the crowd and I've found that if you can get in front of it, first come first served [maybe it'll be a WH enclosure?], then I'd rather stand.

I'm going GA as I know I'll end up with some 6'5" group of people standing infront of me and I have no choice but to move.

And about the price... I think a lot of "big" bands who play Wembley charge similar amounts, like Muse for example. But with these bands they bring a full on production. So if I'm paying £44 and I get the full on light show from Fenton, the screens incase I cant see and the length of show they play in the states... I'm actually quite happy to pay it. It's a hell of a lot cheaper than flying to the States and catching a few shows which I have been tempted to do in the past.
