Goddamnit. I am putting on the LWS , then I am pretending that the last 5 years didn't happen and that the tracklisting for the new album reads:

JTR
SUAD
C-E etc...

I don;t want to wake up mommy the bad man will ruin everything, again.

Well, I'm listening to Hold Down the Block right now....there isn't anything extremely outrageous with the producing. So I guess that is a good sign...

Apparently LeRoi played Sax on this track. Here's a clip of the loop (http://www.weeklydavespeak.com/media/audio/soundfiles/misc/leroi_moore_hold_down_the_block_nas_mark_batson_clip_weekly_ davespeak.mp3).

Nas' New Record Features LeRoi On Sax (12/22/2006)

We are excited to announce that LeRoi performs as guest musician on the Nas song "Hold Down the Block" from his new record Hip Hop is Dead. Hip Hop is Dead was produced by Mark Batson, who produced Stand Up and is currently in the studio working with DMB on their next studio release. Hip Hop is Dead was released earlier this week and is available in stores now.

It's actually not a bad track. I've got a friend who's into rap, and hates DMB, but I've mentioned that Batson produced the last album and is producing the next. He sent it to me, and for a rap song (which I'm usually not into) it wasn't that bad.

Compared to the rest of the cd its one of the weaker songs. I was expecting more from the two of them on a track considering how there two of the biggest rappers in the game.

A few years ago hearing about LeRoi playing Sax on a Nas song would have been pretty unbelievable. I have to say I wasn't all that surprised now...and that cd is actually pretty damn good.

In addition to the sax, hopefully Roi lays down some phat rhymes with Nas.
