Hell yes. Want to do both nights this year. However, my buddy is starting a new job at the time and may not be able to take the Friday off. May have to settle for just night two.

Settled for just night two in '06 and I missed my chance to hear Proudest, BEF, Typical, and JTR.....

27th is my last day. I could do both nights because at that point the year is basically over, but I'd have to leave right after school and go right to the venue then set up camp by headlight later on. There was a time when I'd do that, but not any more. I might leave after school and go to the campground Friday and just skip night 1.

I usually camp at Moreau Lake State Park. Its about a 20 min drive to the show. Lee's is too much of a free for all for me. At Moreau you actually get your own wooded site with a fire ring, bench and all that. Its a little more private, but still a good time.

I like Moreau very much. Its a State Park. It has nice bath houses, has a lake with a beach, and private wooded campsites. I recommend it over any other campsite near SPAC.

Its Lee's I didn't like. Its essentially a big field with a million people and tents one after another. Its loud and gets a bit crazy after the shows. I'd prefer to chill and relax with some beers around a fire rather then a free-for-all shit show, personally.

Just my two pennies.

I also like that they are on people at Moreau...they don't put up with all the ridiuclous behavior. If I want listen to people come back from the show and scream and yell while they play beer pong until 5 am I'll stay at Lee's. If I want to come back and have a few beers and just relax by the fire then its all Moreau.

Agreed. Last year there was a very large group of younger kids they relocated from Loop D to the front near the wood pile so they could watch them.

I may be wrong, but I believe you have to sign something if you are under 21 that you won't bring in any alcohol.

I never had to sign that, but I know they have been on people who act like douchebags for the past few years. I think it started in like 02...people were pretty bad that year so they started cracking down. They aren't unreasonable either, just don't be screaming at the top of your lungs and blasting music at 3 am and you are fine.

I'm sure that:

A. it's back on a weekend again
B. second summer in a row no NYC area shows.
C. Livenation
D. WH trying to keep newer members happy.

If I can't get into the front sections on the bottom, I actually prefer the balcony. Awesome view of the whole stage, good sound.

You could always buy a set for Darien/Camden/Hartford (etc) and try and find a trade. Just an idea. Best of luck dude.

Walk around downtown Saratoga. There are so many little shops and places to eat that you can easily knock off a day just walking around there. You might bump into a band member or two as well. I had a close encounter with Butch and LeRoi near the gelato place a few years back.

if you get there relatively early you can park in the main parking lot which has grass and paved sections. DO NOT buy premier parking...they rope off a section of the paved parking lot, and you can easily park right next to the "VIP" section. in the last several years there have been attendants to direct you where to park but they are easily ignorable. park as close to the main exit as possible because it's not by any means a far walk to the ampitheater (literally maybe 100 yards). if you don't hang around after the show you should be able to get right out of the lot.

PurePlayer34

this is true. one year they didn't open the gates early and we were walking through the park, around to this area. we came upon the road to the vip entrance when a black bus pulled up. the bus began to back up through the entrance and when it was through the entrance dave was visible through the windshield. gave us the :upyours ... absolutely no one was around, it was pretty cool.

There are some good deals on hotels in the Lake George area, since it's offseason for them. You'd have to drive a bit though.

thestand
05-29-2008, 11:59 AM
Queensbury/LG area is a good bet for hotels. Mainly because most of the traffic to the show comes from the South, so traffic is a bitch post-show. Queensbury is north of Saratoga, so once you get on I-87, there's basically no traffic. Depending on how the local roads are out of the venue, I'm usually back home within 45 minutes.

SuffolkDMB54

Since there are a few of us this year, getting the room at Hilton Garden isn't bad and we can at least walk.

I have the previous model, HV-20, and it does the job for the price. I never used it in big shows like DMB, but I taped some TR/TR3 shows and they come out pretty good.

The CMOS seems to produce more noise then I thought it would tho. I think a 3CCD camcorder would be cleaner. Though once you convert to DVD the compression pretty much hides the noise.

Last year, I parked on the other side of the reserve from the arena in one of the grass lots up the road from the swimming pool. It was a long walk, but traffic IIFC wasn't too bad on the way out and there seemed to be less drunk high schoolers out in that general area.

Yeah, it's not super quick, but it wasn't too bad for us last year. We were out in maybe 30 minutes or so. The only part that's not great is it is quite a walk...maybe 30 minutes just walking from the venue to there. After a few brews though, that might not be such a bad thing. The people seemed nice and sociable before the show though, and for the most part tools were MIA.

I have two lawn tickets for Saturday and may be looking to trade for a single pavillion, I know it's probably a long shot...

whoa.... thirty minute walk? It took me fifteen minutes tops from where I parked, maybe that's not the same spot after all.

I don't mind a long walk as long as walk+wait in car <<< wait in car elsewhere

Smitt, do NOT sell your N2 tickets, even if it's down pouring. Just a hunch, but that show has amazing written all over it.

Yeedog (Brian) and I will be there. We'll stumble upon you I'm sure at the big get together thingie.

I think I've only ever met a couple folks who post here. Would be nice to put some faces to names. SPAC does it all.

Email from Warehouse:

Greetings Warehouse SPAC ticket holders:

We have been asked to pass along the following information from the Saratoga Performing Arts Center Box Office:

Please note the following guidelines for the Dave Matthews Band shows at SPAC on Friday, June 20, 2008 and Saturday June 21, 2008:

- Both 6.20 and 6.21 SPAC DMB shows are SOLD OUT.
- NO TICKETS WILL BE RELEASED and NON-TICKET HOLDERS ARE ASKED TO PLEASE REFRAIN FROM TRAVELING TO THE VENUE.
- No alcohol is allowed in the SPAC parking lots or the SPA State Park prior to or during a concert.
- Live Nation asks all DMB fans to act responsibly and to take care of yourself and your friends.
- Please help keep the SPA State park clean by picking up after yourself and disposing of trash and recyclables properly.
- Only Small Lawn Chairs and Small Blankets are allowed
- Cameras are strictly prohibited

We hope that you enjoy the shows!

I don't think the alcohol policy is strictly enforced...

I've seen people breaking all of these rules at once :lmao
I don't thin any of them are really enforced.

Rud

yeah none of them are enforced at all.

they have cops on horseback ride around to act like they're doing something, but that's about it. they'll really only bust the underage drinkers. and by bust i mean ride their horses nearby. if they see stuff getting crazy on the lawn they'll pull people out.

Rud

and where are you guys going to be before the show? I'll try to stop by.

during the show N1 I'm Section 4 Row A. I forgot the seat, I think it's something like 11. Just yell RUD and i'll know who you are.
N2 I'm in section 3 dead center so i might be hard to find.

ALSO just take this for what it's worth and realize that I've never really posted a "rumor" on the boards before.

My friend dates this girl whose father is apparently some kind of lawyer for Trey. I don't think he's the main one that was in court with him, but he knows Trey. They've had dinner before, and do frequently apparently. Anyway, I was with both my friend and his girlfriend and she was talking about how they were arranging Trey to show up at SPAC again this summer at a recent dinner. No idea if it's one show or both, but I'd say Trey will be showing up at least once.

edit: as if it wasn't already assumed.

Guys, I know openers aren't always top priority when there's tailgating to be had, but if you are to ever catch an opener and have never heard Grace Potter and the Nocturnals live, do yourself a favor and check them out at least one of the days. They are really that good live.
