Ford Amphitheatre was built by Clear Channel Communications at a cost of $23 million. The pavilion roof consists of 95,000 sq. ft. (or 2.2 acre) of NASA designed, translucent fabric membrane stretched over an arched galvanized steel truss superstructure. Michael W. Smith & MercyMe with David Crowder Band were the first official performances at Ford Amphitheatre on July 23, 2004. DMB performs the following week on their 2004 summer tour, the first show to go on-sale and the first show to sell out for this venue. The amphitheatre consists of 9,500 reserved seats and 10,500 capacity in the lawn.

Yes!

Will be doing Tampa for sure. Don't know about WPB yet. We'll see how the new songs sound.

((((((((Hello))))))))))

This thread is so empty, I hear an echo.

Where are all the Florida fans?

I was sweating so much before the show on N1 in Palm Beach last year, I thought I was going to die. I can't imagine how hot it'll be in July.

It is going to be brutal. I wouldn't miss it. :)

heading down from HHI, since the resort definitely wont give me july 4th off for charleston. WPB seems like they get solid sets the past half decade.

how sweaty are we talking here?

Really depends. If we get a cool front or some rain, your looking at low 80s to start and high 70s by show end. If it is a hot and sunny day, you are looking anywhere from low 90s to mid 80s to start and high 80s at the end of the show. Humidity will be high since it is Florida in the summer. WBP tends to get more breezes being closer to the coast than Tampa, so that might provide some relief. FL weather can change quite a bit, so one night could be brutal and the next night be fine. I wouldn't let weather keep you from the show.

:lol

C'mon now.....a cool front in July? I'm just bustin your chops.

Usually in the summer, the seabreeze starts on the east coast, and gradually moves to the west coast throughout the day. WPB/Miami gets a lot of morning rain, and that moves west, and builds into late afternoon Tampa thunderstorms.

Of course it can rain anytime in Fla. but that is the usual summer pattern.

Expect it to be very hot and humid for the WPB shows. It might rain, but unless it's prolonged, it just makes things sticky. Odds are the Tampa show will be wet, or it will rain right before the show. Will also be very hot, so bring lots of your favorite beverages to consume in the lots!

No kidding. "Cool front" meaning its not 92 degrees :lol If you are hoping for comfort, get reserved seats and hope for rain. But like I said, don't let the weather get in the way of coming to the FL run.

Tampa usually get average/slightly above average shows, but the venue is pretty new and is a nice place to see a show. West Palm is a bit older venue, but the crowd is usually great and the sets are usually pretty solid. Missed WBP last year, I am looking forward to getting back.

The best Tampa sets I've seen have been '00, '98, and '07. I liked the shows in the Ice Palace, but the amp. is nice, and great for tailgating.

WPB crowds are better, and usually a really good show/set. I haven't been to WPB since '02. I'm making the trip down this year hoping TR will join them.

Those pretty decent seats? I would imagine they are good, just curious what to expect since I have never been to this venue before. Thanks.

Yes, you should be pretty happy with those seats. The closest to the center the better, but they look pretty good.

Yeah as long as your more towards the center they are great seats. I sat all the way on the outside in that section in '00 and they were still good.

You should be fine, anything in the first three sections is amazing.....even if you're off to the side.

Not sure, but I have been to some shows at WBP that ended at 11:15-11:20ish. So if there is it wasn't too firm.

the lawn at WPB is not bad at all - no curfew in the past. curfew in Tampa though and be sure to bring your rain gear. we've had some pretty nasty afternoon/evening storms here the past week and tonight is real bad. usually clear out around 9pm

Haven't listened to a note this tour, and I'm really excited about the shows. Florida might get some treats these shows.
