Mile High Music Festival at the Fields at Dick's Sporting Goods Park

I know I'm pretty excited about this lineup. Getting to see Petty and DMB in the same weekend, plus a couple other artists I am excited to see, (A Bird, Spoon, Black Crowes) and probably seeing Mayer guest with DMB should be pretty sweet. And $150 for the weekend, not too bad considering DMB and Petty tixs are running about $75 a piece.

The only thing I'm worried about is the set-up. I've never seen a big act at a festival w/ no elevated seating (as I am not the tallest of people). At least Sunday doesn't have any artists I have to see so I can sit in front of the main stage all day and have a good spot for DMB.

So this thing is entirely GA?

Getting a late start on possibly heading out there...

It will be entirely GA since it's a festival with multiple stages. they haven't released any sort of map as far as the venue will be layed out, but its basically in a huge field (a bunch of soccer fields).
I'm assuming with the Black Crowes and Mayer playing before DMB on the main stage (I'd assume they'll all be on the main stage) one is going to have to get there pretty early on Sunday to get a decent seat/place to stand for DMB. Regardless, it should be a fun weekend with some good music. Hopefully they plan it all out well so there aren't too many problems that are sometimes associated with other festivals.

Just bought my tickets for the weekend. Should be a pretty cool and different experience. Think DMB will play a full set?

05-28-2008, 09:56 AM
I'll be there. Confirmed.

I'd imagine DMB will get a full set.

I am right in thinking they did at Bonnaroo?

Yep, they had a full set at Bonnaroo, I would expect the same thing at MHMF

I'm ready for them to release maps, stage set ups, set times etc.

Has anybody heard anything?

06-11-2008, 11:55 AM
Haven't seen anything on setup yet, but they did add Jason Mraz and Gavin Degraw to the Saturday lineup and moved Andrew Bird and Brett Dennen to Sunday. I'm quite glad they added Jason Mraz but upset they moved Andrew and Brett to Sunday as I was planning on parking myself infront of the main stage all day ensuring I had a good spot for DMB, but now it looks like I'll have to check out the other stages a little bit too.

Sunday has a lot less people that I'm interested in, so I'll be camping out in front of the main stage waiting for Mayer and DMB for most of the day.

I'm glad they moved Bird to Sunday. I was hoping to camp out in front of the main stage all day, but it's not that big of a deal. I'm a big fan of both Andrew Bird and Josh Ritter, and I had a bad feeling that they were both going to be scheduled at around the same time on Saturday ... so I'm okay with this move.

Anyone need a ticket for the Sunday show? I'm moving from Denver and won't be going anymore.

06-12-2008, 01:23 PM
I haven't gotten tickets yet, but I need the two days.

06-15-2008, 12:41 PM
They need to get some updates going on. Times, stages, and more band to come!?

06-24-2008, 11:08 PM
I will be there with my wife and two kids (3 and 1). Our first festival. Should be crazy.

So there will be a live webcast on AT&T Blueroom: http://www.attblueroom.com/music/Mile-High-Music-Festival/more-information.php

Hopefully there is some kind of DVD release.

I really wish these guys would release the schedule. I'm sure DMB will get a full set, I just want to see it in front of me.

Schedule is finally out:

Kinda sucks the Crowes are between Mayer and DMB on a different stage . I really wanted to check them out but don't know if I'll want to move from the main stage as I planned on camping out in front of that one almost all day to ensure I have a decent spot for DMB

Mayer and The Roots overlapping kind of sucks. It's ok though, I saw The Roots at Alpine last year.

Nice to see the full set confirmed.
