Madison Square Garden, often abbreviated as MSG, and known colloquially simply as The Garden, has been the name of four arenas in New York City It is also the name of the entity which owns the arena and several of the professional sports franchises which play there. There have been four incarnations of the arena. The first two were located at the Northeast corner of Madison Square (Madison Ave. & 26th St.) from which the arena derived its name. Subsequently a new 17,000-seat Garden (opened December 15, 1925) was built at 50th Street and 8th Avenue, and the current Garden (opened February 14th, 1968) is at 7th Avenue between 31st and 33rd Streets, situated on top of Pennsylvania Station.

so what's the best way to go for tickets for this show? are floors in the $204.50 range still available? it's weird that you can pay that much and be anywhere from the front of the back section on the floor up to the 200s.

I live blocks away from MSG, so I feel obligated. No tickets yet, I'm gonna wait on them. I really enjoyed IZOD last year. Hopefully it will be just as fun.

Was that true?
I'm attending this show yet have no idea what the deal with it is. Is there no opener? Is DMB gonna therefore play a really long show?

By the way, I have extra pairs in good seats if anyone's interested in buying them for face value. Let me know.

No word on any openers yet. I would expect DMB to play a usual length set list. I am going and feel it is going to be a great show, but we will see.

Just hold out for a bit...things are gonna get desperate. Sorry, but not many people are going to pay $250 to see DMB.

patsfan39

i dont really think people on the east coast will pass up a chance to either a) see this lineup of dmb (with jeff and tim. remember jeff started after the VA shows and all of the north east shows). and b) this could be the last time we see dmb. after all after the scheduled dates its up in the air.

but yes im a bit biased as i do have tickets and do plan on going.

I'm assuming this is no longer the last show of the tour, with these two cancelled shows in need of rescheduling.

so it looks like they are doing seating a full 360 around the venue, i wonder what type of stage setup they will do. if they use the one from this summer, it will suck for those behind, but i cant imagine they would completely cover themselves from a good portion of the audience.

It's very confusing.

The CD is being released by the "Stand Up to Cancer" organization. They're showing some kind of TV Special/Telethon on Friday night (Sept 5).

"Stand Up for a Cure" is the organization that runs the concert series. (DMB, Jerry Seinfeld, Brian Wilson, Barry Manilow, etc.)

All in all, the two organizations have similar names and purposes, yet they are in no way affiliated with one another.
