so is this part of Rites of Spring or not?

Nope. Rites will be the weekend before (most likely). This is during Vanderbilt's exam week, so Rites would not be planned for that week.

so is this part of Rites of Spring or not?
It was initially thought to be, but now they are saying it's not. That festival is the weekend before and usually draws only about 5-6 thousand people.

There is still a shot I might decide to go to this show. But I'll just go through TM, or possibly get Instants. We'll see though. Its looking like my CVille trip might cost me far less than I anticipated.

As far as GA vs. Seats.... I dont know if I'd want to deal with the headache again of GA. At Rothbury, I got to the stage DMB was playing on, and literally sat there for 15+ hours, no bathroom, no food or drink other than some shit I put in a backpack. It was worth it, but a huge pain in the ass. Granted, at this show you wouldnt have to wait nearly that long, but dealing with all the pushing and shoving again is something I could certainly do without.

So, if I go, I'll likely get seats.

last year in memphis we got there way to early, like 1.....and because the event was being run so poorly, we couldve walked up when the gates opened and got front and center....i think it all depends on the venue and who's in charge

When the show was first announced it was DMB w/ special guests. I don't see why they would label the openers as special guests for one show and not the others.

Woke up, couldn't sleep...figured I'd check this thread since I'm finally excited for the show after seeing the first two sets.

Got an e-mail back from the WH regarding early entry for GA field tickets - apparently WH tickets for the field will have a special gate with early access to the field. The e-mail said they will be announcing the detail soon. Pretty sweet though - hopefully it means the line is much shorter and thus doesn't begin at the break of dawn.

I had heard that about the special entrance for WH GA members. Awesome news. Keep us updated on the news regarding it. Is the WH planning on sending an email to all WH members?

P.S. Got my tickets Wednesday!

on my ticket it says the following

"VIP GA Field ticket holders will be provided with a fenced area in front of the mix position to view the performance"

so dead center, but back a little bit

Thanks man. I am still debating if I am going to line up early for GA or just drink all day and forget about it.

I mean I was front row center in Memphis last year, and I'll probably fight for a front spot in Little Rock in September, so maybe this time I should just chill and be a bit further back.

I'm working the event, so i saw the layout of the stadium for the concert. The sound tent is going to be about halfway back in the GA area, with the WH GA area immediately in front of it.
And they are staging the WH GA people away from everyone else, and be let in from a different gate.
The doors are opening really early from what I've heard, but that may change.

everything about the memphis show, except for the show itself, was horrible. there was absolutely no point to the "field tickets gate" and line. you still had to go back to the front of the stadium to go in. then, they blocked off actual entrance to the field for about 20 minutes.
whoever was in charge of operations for that show clearly had never run a concert before

you must be staying at the Hilton?
for anyone who doesnt know the area, the stadium is open on one end and on that end the stadium is practically closed by the Hilton. i cant imagine this show going past "curfew" with guests of the hotel hearing every bit of what will go on at the show.

Yeah, I'll be there at the reception. Its being held at the gym. And the gates should be opening around 4, assuming they get everything set up.

Rites of Spring was this past weekend, and it was a clusterfuck with the set up and security, so it'll be interesting to see how its handled on Saturday. Gonna try and find out about SC today.

I haven't heard what the curfew is, but Rites ended around 12:30.

The Marriott is the hotel that overlooks the stadium, but the stage will be facing away the hotel. If you are getting in the night before and your room faces the stadium, you'll be able to watch the load-in and setup, and hear the SC just fine.

One of the local radio stations here in Cincy played "Let You Down" this morning -- I don't think I've ever heard that on the radio before (and certainly not a commercial, "mix" radio station).

Here's what I figured out today:
-what I said about WH GA being in front of the sound tent was wrong, as was previously posted, the VIP area will be right in front of the tent. The WH GA section will be right in front of the stage, all the way up front.
-for WH members, gates open at 4:30. Everyone else, gates open at 5.
-SC will be between 1-3, IF they do one. If they do, it'll be a last minute decision based upon whether they want to rest from the previous nights drive or not.
-Curfew is 11.

Are they roping off an area for WH members anywhere in the GA section, or is it just an early-open to give them access before the rush begins?

Either way, I'll probably go in early to make sure that I get a poster. The idea of standing for a full show and carrying a poster is less than appealing, though.

:lol Literally RIGHT as I posted that, I got this:
Greetings from the Warehouse:

Doors Open time for the Saturday, April 25th show at Vanderbilt Stadium in Nashville, TN is at 4:30 pm. Warehouse members with General Admission tickets must assemble in line at the corner of Jess Neely Drive and Natchez Trace on the sidewalk closest to the stadium to be permitted priority entry to the GA field before other GA ticket holders. You must have a Warehouse GA ticket to stand in this line and gain early entry. Please look for the signs outside the stadium entrance to join the correct queue as there are separate entrances for reserved ticket holders and VIPs.

We hope that you enjoy the Nashville DMB show!

I should be at my hotel by 1pm CST. I'm probably planning on trying to be in line at 3:30. Since we are getting let in before the general public ticketholders, I'm pretty sure we will be pretty close to the stage and I see no need to sit in line for hours. And I'm fast as sh*t so I'll just sprint past people once I get in if I need to. lol. :hi

Wow, against all better judgement I think I'm actually going to do this show. I have to be at both church services in Columbus on Sunday morning for something I already agreed to do so we are going down to the show and driving back after....I'll probably get 3 hours of sleep before if I'm lucky.

This is crazy but I got talked into it by my sister and friends (and oh yeah, 2 great shows since C-ville where I had a blast).

This will be an epic road trip for sure. :lol

From what I was told, there will be a section blocked off for only WH GA ticket holders in front of the stage, but everything they are changing a lot of things last minute

Nope. I'm working the thing, so I haven't really pursued the drinking going on, but I saw three semi's unloading beer today. I can't imagine they'd do a VIP without some sort of free alcohol. And how does warehouse not know? I think only 150 VIP tickets were sold.

they werent sure if they could give it away since its on a college campus...they said for sure they would have all alcohol for sale....i was hoping for free

You can drink on my tab all night after the show if you tell them NOT to change this.

That would be perfect. None of us would have to wait in line. :upyours
