I'm actually surprised they didn't really do anything "MSG-worthy" at MSG this past September. Halloween would be pretty awesome, albeit some people half expect it at MSG nowadays.

Personally, I'm rooting for Loving Wings at MSG this year. I haven't seen it since 2003 and it's been played every single year since then. I just always miss it.

What about this for an encore?

they pretty much did sell out in 30 minutes. they just didnt release behind the stage until a week later, and im assuming not too many people know that behind the stage is even on sale. everyone thinks its sold out. it will eventually sell out

i think the best bet for anyone not looking to spend too much money, would be to look into hotels in Jersey City or Hoboken.

contrary to ignorant belief, Jersey City can be very nice. i have friends who live there, right on the water. obviously it has its bad areas, but what place doesnt.

and of course there hoboken. hoboken is a 10 minute ride on the PATH into manhattan. JC is a little closer. well thats at least if you take the PATH into WTC, and take the A,C,or E up to the garden, which i think is faster then taking the PATH that goes uptown.

you could definitely take a cab, but it might cost you about 30 bucks. it depends on a few things. i really don't think you'd need to take a cab though, the PATH is cheap, quick, and easy. i got to jersey city and hoboken all the time and i think i took a cab there once.

yes the trains run all night long. so now what you could do, what i would probably do, is you take the PATH from either HBK or JC. you take it towards the WTC, which is the last stop on that line. you get off the PATH and walk upstairs and outside. walk straight up towards Millenium Hilton, which is about a 20 second walk. from there take either the A,C,or E uptown to Penn Station.

and you do the exact opposite after the show. People are going to keep saying there is a PATH that goes up to 33rd street, but i always feel the way i just explained it is the best way to go.

yes the trains run all night long. so now what you could do, what i would probably do, is you take the PATH from either HBK or JC. you take it towards the WTC, which is the last stop on that line. you get off the PATH and walk upstairs and outside. walk straight up towards Millenium Hilton, which is about a 20 second walk. from there take either the A,C,or E uptown to Penn Station.

and you do the exact opposite after the show. People are going to keep saying there is a PATH that goes up to 33rd street, but i always feel the way i just explained it is the best way to go.

awesome, thanks a lot!

hmm.. I would take the HBKN train right to 33rd street and walk 1 block, to and from. that's just me though.

Always loud, crowded and dark. It's full either with office workers, or fans of whatever event is happening at MSG that night. You can't hear anyone you are talking to, and service is hard to get. I unfortunately work in this neighborhood and my coworkers always want to go to this bar. It's horrible. I hope people keep going there though, as it means the rest of the good bars in this hood will always have a seat.

what do bartenders have anything to do with whether or not you have a good time. don't respond by saying the bartenders at stout eat shit and never serve you, whereas at harringtons they're on their knees one hand cupping your balls and the other serving you your beer.

stop telling me how to respond. i'll say whatever i want. and dont talk to me like i don't know what the fuck i'm talking about. ive been to stout many times. the bartenders there are always assholes. they are nasty, and they are slow.

at Harringtons they are actually nice people who refrain from giving you an attitude no matter how busy in there it is. don't twist what i said into whatever you want to hear. im sick of your relentless shit.

what i said, and my assessment of Stout, is a more than legitimate reason to not like the place. if you like it, wonderful, have a great time there. just presented an opposing opinion, so people who have never been there arent surprised when they get there. if you like to go to a bar and not be able to get a decent buzz because you need to wait 10 minutes in between finishing a beer and getting a new one, then by all means, enjoy Stout. thats all im saying.

oh and also do me a favor if you go to stout. order a mixed drink, and when you realize there is barely any alcohol in the overpriced drink you just bought, ask the bartender for a little more alcohol and enjoy the nasty comments you'll receive.

Anyone going to the Roots concert at the Highline Ball Room after MSG?

http://www.highlineballroom.com/bio.php?id=854

I just found this link online, and I was thinking about maybe heading over there after the show. I'm not from NYC, so I have no idea what this place is or where it's located, but I thought it might be something cool after the show.

Any recommendations on it or anyone been to a show at this place?

any of you guys have any info about this place?

take the A train from Penn Station after the show, and get off at 14th street. you can walk to Highline from there.

then why post it?

Because people usually post their not-realistic wish-it-would-happen setlists just for fun?

And just for arguments sake, the only thing unrealistic about the setlist is the complete lack of crappy songs and maybe the slots.

It's only been played there twice (I think), so it isn't an automatic pick for the venue. I mean, Halloween got played quite a bit last year and MSG didn't get it.

Halloween is fun, but I'd rather get a surprise Recently or The Last Stop or something.

Last Stop
Minarets
Spoon
Grace is Gone
Typical
You Never Know

I'd be stoked if they brought Busted Stuff out. Just about every other song has had a comeback since '02, but Busted Stuff has been kept in the closet for some reason.
