Venue Information:
Montage Mountain Amphitheater started as a temporary facility located behind the ski lodge on Montage Mountain. In 1999, Lackawanna County built a permanent amphitheater further down the mountain. The new location has reserved seating for 7,000 people covered by the pavilion roof, with room for another 10,500 on the lawn. In 2002 the operation of the facility was taken over by Clear Channel Communications and the building became known as the Ford Pavilion at Montage Mountain. In June 2005, upon their first visit to Northeastern Pennsylvania and the Toyota Pavilion, the Dave Matthews Band became the first concert to ever completely sell out the pavilion attracting over 18,000 people. On their return in July 2006, they once again sold out the pavilion. In 2006, the entertainment group splintered away from Clear Channel, becoming a new, independent, company, Live Nation, and the amphitheatre changed name again, this time to Toyota Pavilion on Montage Mountain. On February 15, 2007, the tent roof of the pavilion collapsed under the weight of snow and ice from the previous day's Blizzard of 2007. A new roof was completed in time for the summer 2007 concert season.

It's worth a trip, right off the highway for the most part. Just plan on being in the lot for an hour and a half after the show.

Lawn isn't bad. Should be good because it's late in the summer, so most "fratboys" would be back at school. So cheap is absolutely an option. I wouldn't sit lawn, just not my style, but if you're on a budget, why not?

Just watch out for snakes.

I'm happy. You figure there was probably around ~1,200 seats in the lower pavilion after the whole GA Pit thing. I got shut out saying there were no tickets my first 3 attempts and then I grabbed these. Its the farthest back I've sat for any show at montage but anything in 100's is better then the 200's. Did anyone get GA Pit using ticketmaster? Its so hard to get good seats with 2 pre-sales (WH and AMEX) before getting your shot through TM.

The 100's at Montage are great. There is a big gap between the 100's and 200's.
Im happy about getting 101 HH on TM at 10:00am. I wasnt going to release them and risk the chance of no 100 level seats showing up ever again. having a reserved seat is going to allow me to tailgate comfortably without having to worry about getting a prime spot in the GA. Sometimes i like that peace of mind :lol

I got pit off of TM during the public onsale. WH gave me reserved, which I guess I need to sell. I don't really want to deal with the pit, but I didn't want to be far away even more, lol. I'm hoping everyone is pushed up against the front with a little more room in the back (like most GA pits).

haha, totally read right over that part. Yeah, I don't know what the deal is with those. Try calling the box office?

Alright thanks I'll try that.

Edit: The box office seems to be closed today for Memorial Day so I think I'll just take the chance on these and see where it gets me.

not a bad plan, as long as it says 101 on the ticket, I'm sure you'll be good.

maybe it's the seats to the right of the VIP boxes (next to box 37)

That would be my guess too. Thanks for the chart.

I fully plan on getting into the lot around 2pm and grilling some ribs, burgers and hot dogs with a cooler full of various beers. Lawn/ladder golf will most likely be available, as well. Who's in?

Was able to get my hand on a pit ticket at the last minute. Anyone know what time the lot outside the Pavilion opens?

I'm coming back from Bethel and staying at the Hampton Inn at the bottom of the mountain. Check-out time is 11AM. Guess I'll head up the mountain then!

Just checked. This show will be #50 for me.

Lucky #13 for me! I kind of lost track of time and didn't realize the show was so soon.

It's a nice venue, but getting out after the show is the biggest PiTA. If you're bussed up prepare to wait for a bus, if you end up parking in the lots outside the pavilion prepare to wait a bit after the show before even moving.

That's pretty much been my experiences at Montage.

depends on when you get there, there aren't many choices. if the lots are full, they'll park you at the bottom of the mountain and shuttle you 2 miles up.

I plan on being there at 2:30, so it'll be the front of the reserved lot for me.

good luck to you. there will be plenty of parking, it just depends on how much of a pain it'll be at that point. one road up the mountain, one road down.
