Had an absolute blast, but we needed all the traveling/camping tips and advice we could get from this thread.

Post all info for The Gorge 2009 here!

I'll be there! This year marks the 10th anniversary of my first DMB shows at the Gorge. :cool I've been to the Gorge every year since then, except for 2001 (out-of-town). These will be my 26th, 27th, and 28th DMB shows at the Gorge. :)

I'm glad the WH set the limit to 2 tickets for these shows. :upyours

don't leave your campsite or else you'll come back to find a big ass RV blocking your view of the amphitheater.

Just requested all 3 nights!! I'm stoked. Now I just need to figure out the whole camping thing. Never done it.
Vantage is great if you don't mind a 15-20 minute drive it's right on the water as well. I've stayed at getty's cove the last 2 years but it's now closed. Wildhorse is good from what I've heard, they have showers and a shuttle to the venue. The Gorge campground is nice because you can walk to the venue but other than that I've heard it's crowded and there isn't any shade.

no shade is right - so bringing a shade tent is a must. If you get there early enough on Friday you'll have no problem having enough room...just spread your site out. the walk to the venue is absolutely stunning as well.

I went last year and part of the reason I'm not going back this year is that I can't imagine 2009 topping last year's. That said, the Gorge is always a great time.

we did premium gorge camping last year, loved the convenience of it, but looking for something a little more scenic.

with only one Bay Area show, and that likely being Outside Lands, this is the year for the Gorge for me.

is wildhorse the only campsite with a shuttle?

I think so. I haven't heard of any of the campsites down in Vantage having a shuttle, but maybe I'm wrong.

I got all three nights reserved from the Warehouse. :) It seems like a lot of people did. That's very cool.

Confirmed all three nights reserved. Last year they were all pretty much centered. Hoping for the same. This place is magic. Can't wait.

I'll totally be there, and I'm ufcking pumped, first time at the Gorge!

A question though: Is anyone willing to trade warehouse lawn tickets for a ticketmaster lawn for any of the nights?

I know it's a weird request, but this may be the only time I get out to the Gorge and I'd like some collectible tickets if possible . . . unfortunately I didn't make plans in time to put in a warehouse request. Doesn't even have to be before the show, I'd be willing to trade stubs after it's all said and done.

What are the camping options now that Getty's is closed? Vantage, Gorge, and Wild Horse (sold out). Vantage is first come first serve on the riverfront but when do we need to show up to have a chance at a spot? Any other options I'm missing?

Hey everyone, first timer this year at the Gorge! I'm pumped, but I need some help. Is there any good place to rent a car? Everywhere I'm seeing is going to run me about $400 for the 5 days (thurs-tue). Also, are we able to take our car out of the campground to run to the store or anything without losing our spot? Or should we just bring everything the 1st day? I'm in gorge premier campground by the way....

Thanks for all of your help!

it gets chilly there, the weather can be great, or it could be really windy. Last year, when I went, it was the first time it had rained there for a show in at least 10 years, and it hailed, and it was fucking cold. They ended up selling out on sweat shirts.

Yeah, last year was the worst weather at a DMB Gorge weekend in a long time.

Because it's a desert, it gets chilly at night there anyway, even without the wind. But with the wind.... Definitely bring a sweatshirt or jacket.
