Wow...this is one I am actually somewhat excited about.

I wish they'd release the 4.05.95 Academy show, but as far as Spring '95 goes, this also looks like a real winner.

Basically they can release anything from '95 or '98 and I'll be thrilled. Those were the two years that I really obsessed over at the height of my DMB obsession. To revisit some of the shows I listened to crappy tapes of so many times - this time as soundboards - is a very nice idea.

#40>Watchtower maybe?

Either that, or #40 is cut. I'm no expert on DATs, but the length of that source file is just under 118 minutes, and I think many DAT tapes are 110 minutes. The taper might have had to change tapes after DBTP and something could have gone wrong. Perhaps someone who actually knows something can shed some light on that.

Oh well, doesn't really matter, does it?. A complete SBD is on the way. :rawk

04. True Reflections
05. Granny
06. Dancing Nancies
07. Lie In Our Graves

Yeah, if it's an amazing show, then it doesn't matter. But to me, most of the old shows are quality though, and most of them run together for me since they have similar setlists and they just keep releasing more and more. Most of all, I find I don't really have the time to listen to all these DMB shows, there's just so many out now between LiveTrax and DMBLive. If I gave them all multiple concentrated listens, they'd become more set apart for me I'm sure. But I've still only listened to half of Irving Plaza, and I've listened to Norfolk and Blue Note maybe once all the way through. For those shows, I usually pick out unique performances of the songs and listen to them on their own among other music. There's also definitely a few tracks on the D&T DMBLive shows that I have never listened to at all. So, I feel like it's silly for me to spend money on shows I'll only end up listening to entirely once or not even.

I usually listen to shows I recently attended the most frequently, and I haven't even listened to the shows I attended this summer more than a couple times each the whole way through. They've released about 15 shows in the last year I think, and there's just too much good music out there to devote 2.5 hours for each of these DMB shows, so I gotta pick and choose.

Haha, and yeah I actually agree, since I went to 12 shows this year and downloaded them all, I already have way too many versions of the BW songs on my computer since they're not that different version-to-version.

Now I'm curious - let's see what they've released in the last year:

Live Trax 13
Mile High
LiveTrax 2008
Live Trax 14
Benaroya Hall, Seattle, WA 10/24/2002
China Club, NYC 01/09/2004
Blue Note, Columbia, MO 10/22/1994
Town Point Park, Norfolk, VA 4/26/1994
Prism Coffeehouse, Charlottesville, VA 4/22/1993
Irving Plaza, New York, NY 3/26/1994
Live Trax 15

and now:
Live Trax 16
5/10/95
4/10/93

plus:
LiveTrax 2008
Warehouse 8

and of course, Big Whiskey & The Groogrux King.

I had the same problem at first... for those who haven't figured it out:

log in to the warehouse store first, then open the link in a new tab. I kept logging into the warehouse, and the links wouldn't work.

I'm converting these to FLAC right now... thanks so much for the links all. Great to get these early.

Well it's not as if these releases(shows) are each 5 hours in length. It's not that hard to listen to a show. I'm not even sure you could say you're too busy considering this less than 48 hours worth of music released in the span of a year. I would completely understand saying that you're not that interested to even bother making time or even thought about checking a few out while doing something else. But to say it's too much music...I dunno about that.

my issue with this not having #40 on this show is that the definitive performance occurred earlier that day and I wanted to know what the supposed evening version held. Dave has always insisted he just made up the words to that version (which I just can't believe) and it would have been interesting to see what lyrics the warfield version had. Now, we'll never know.

Exactly. Suppose there were parts of the Yoshi's version that Dave wasn't happy with and "corrected" them for the Warfield one. It would have been very interesting to hear. And anyway, ANY of the '95 performances are all pretty damn good, so it's nice to have a collection of them anyway.

no, the aud has no cuts and is clearly from one source. also, the aud and this release are exactly the same.

the same as in they are selling the aud recording?
or you mean the songs are the same musically

they aren't selling the aud recording...why would they do that, the aud is pretty bad.

I mean there are no changes setlist wise between the two.

3.29.03, I would assume.

I really hope they use DMBLive to put up some very obscure/interesting/one off shows like 4/5/95 (full band acoustic), 12/16/96 (Dave, Tim, Stefan), or any of the early instore performances with some combination of the original band (Dave & Boyd, Dave & Roi etc - if they will release China Club, why not?).

DBTP wasn't all that I expected it to be. First time I ever actually listened to the song, it was kinda lame haha

Oh well.

YES YES YES
Been saying this for years about releases. So many little gems. 2/1/97 with fonz and popper. 11/7/94 or that summer '97 D&T with the first Spoon etc etc

you know people would still buy it
they buy every other show released with "issues"

but every other show has been a SBD.

I understand that you have a thing about people buying these things early, but they wouldn't sell crappy auds.

i don't have an issue with people buying them early
i wouldn't myself however
but on the other hand there hasn't been one i want yet - if there was maybe i would jump on it early too

I love this quote from the show description on DMBLive:

"#36 is present on the setlist as its own track and not as an interpolation. "

#36 and Everyday are different enough songs they could get away with playing them both. Unfortunately they don't see it this way.

Screw that. Just play #36. I like Everyday, but more because of the #36 in the intro and outro than the actual song itself.

Yeah, I agree....I remember dreaming about seeing #36 live. I waited a long time to listen to Everyday the album (I'm pretty sure Busted Stuff was released at the point) and found out that Everyday was what happened to #36. I was so sad about it. I'm glad though that in '04 I got a pretty good #36 interpolation including a verse.
