here's to DMB's first visit to the Twin Cities since 2005... and at one of the finest indoor sites in the metro area!

Opener: Black Joe Lewis & the Honeybears

I should be there. Can't wait to see them somewhere besides Target Center. Too bad it's a Wednesday though...I live in Mankato now.

So glad they ditched the Target Center.
Hopefully one day they will play @ Target Field!

yes, i will be requesting reserved. the arena is built very 'vertical' and it seats fewer than the Target Center did. i've attended several concerts and hockey games here and there really isn't a bad seat in the house. the acoustics are also MUCH MUCH better than the TC.

stage side of 104... i'm really pretty cool with that actually. like i've posted previously, there is no bad seat in the house at the Xcel. i seriously think even straight on C15 or equivalent would be fine. but i guess i've been to so many DMB shows (been really really close and medium far) that i'm not too picky anymore. GA at some other venues would be fine, but to have GA be the whole floor at the Xcel doesn't seem cool with me.

i may have extra tickets for this show the way things are turning out and i'd like them to go to someone here if someone's interested. i'll be around and will let you all know.

Is that real ice outside the Xcel? I've only seen it from long range, never made it during my trip to Minneapolis. St. Paul seems like a sleeper city though.

Nope, not real ice.

it's not real ice and i don't consider it a "sleeper" city. it isn't as trendy as Minneapolis proper - you won't find any douchey popped collar dance clubs. it's a much more laid back, friendly bar scene that is more "townish" rather than cityish. it's a matter of preference i suppose. i've seen plenty of shows here and it's usually pretty lively before shows.

i've read elsewhere that some were seeing pending charges... a couple claimed final charges. my CC was a day or two delayed in showing for Alpine so i really wouldn't stress it yet. i think some CC's only post final charges and may be delayed in even doing that. i use a Citi card fyi.

That means nothing in terms of being confirmed/declined.

I know that, I was just adding it as a fact to my statement.

Just got charged on the cc, yes baby!

confirmed reserved. So yeah... the Warehouse has been good to me, but also has left me in a predicament due to them not releasing confirms before the AmEx presale (had to pursue all options because dealing with TM is BS). of course i have no idea where the WH seats are, but i definitely have a pair up for sale now. puttin it out there.

EDIT: i have to say though, i've spent the last several years sweating that Saturday release stuff. i have the WH and AmEx to thank for gettin me into reserved pav Alpine and reserved Xcel (with a pair to spare) 48 hours before the circus this year. gotta give props.

whelp... this show has potentially taken on a bit more significance. i really don't think it's going to wind up wrapping up the tour, but even if it doesn't it'll be one of the last for awhile.

Well, excitement for this show is down. I really don't care much about it and it's coming up soon. Probably my last DMB show and I just can't get into it.

on that note, i think i have a pair i'd be able to part with. any takers?

on topic: i'm moderately excited, but more because of who i'm taking. i guess it will be my last DMB live experience for at least a year and, like you, i'm don't really care too much. i'm hoping to hear a select few songs, but even that has diminished in the last few years. still a great live act tho and i'll be there anytime they play in the Twin Cities area. in some ways i think the break might be overdue for the band and fans alike. most bands take some time more than once and a while.

This is the first year since 2000 that I didn't go to Alpine, so this is my only show of the year. Excited to see them at the Xcel. I'll be in a suite too, so that'll be kinda nice.

Flying in from Philly for work/pleasure. Minarets would be nice. Save the Last Stop for Wrigley.

i'm cool with this. caught the Last Stop twice throughout the years and Minarets zero. i fear we're "due" for neither and a Squirm opener if they keep it up their current rotation. it would really bum me out to get neither... and i've tried my best to train myself against getting bummed out at dmb shows haha. ah well.

Same here on both. Glad they've had a few days off, but it doesn't guarantee a killer set list.

Either way, first time in Minnesota and first indoor show for me this summer.

How's the building for acoustics?

XCel is really good for concerts. Much better than Target Center.
