The Warehouse is preparing for the mailing of the annual membership package. We expect to begin mailing the package within the next couple of months to all members that joined or renewed in the 2011 calendar year.

We are excited to announce the track listing of the annual Warehouse CD and have been searching through the archives for rarities and great performances. The Gravedigger Intro from the 02 Rosemont, IL show is the live debut of the Gravedigger lyrics. Gas Into Fire Jam debuted at the July 04 show and is previously unreleased. Everyday tease > Halloween > Water Into Wine from the 08 Riverbend show speaks for itself! For the Warehouse 8 CD, we've chosen Ants Marching from an August 93 Trax Nightclub show. So Damn Lucky from the 2010 show in Scranton, PA is a choice track on Volume 8 as well.

solid. good to have another Crazy Easy, pumped to have that ODH/WIA and Halloween. don't really need another Rapunzel, they just put one on a warehouse disc a couple years ago. even with that Gravedigger intro, meh.

they're obsession with Sister is just weird though

Finally getting that crazy easy!!!!!

And that gas into fire was cool plus some cool segues there

Overall this one isn't too bad looking :upyours

I agree that this SDL is kinda cool, but sister has been the same song every time, and there are 48 releases of Ants Marching, give us a Baby Blue and a newer Sugar Will or something... it is hard to gripe about this when the 5 tracks are so damn sweet though

It was the first of the "surprise" Halloweens from 08. I was too busy just being incredibly excited, as it was my first time seeing it live. All I can say was that it was fucking awesome.

Honestly, I stick by that it was the last of the truly out of nowhere shocking Halloweens.

It's rough but I think cool to have.

I prefer 6-17 crazy-easy, but I this is a good one.

Why I Am (even with the ODH partial), Sister, and SDL are major head scratchers.

Would have loved to see some stuff they busted out in 2010: JTR, So Right, Kit Kat, BOWA, etc.

Rough -- it'll be interesting to see if they do any work on Dave's vocals, because he's badly off for at least the first part of the song.

Good picks. These last two discs have been surprising to me with stuff like ADSR, Crazy Easy, #40, and now Gas Into Fire > WWYS and ODH > WIA. Seems like they're trying to give us some rarer unique stuff. I mean, aside from Sister of course. Jesus.

And before you go bagging on Sister, this is an especially beautiful version, probably the best ever, so give it a shot, hater.

It's a bit tired now but I did enjoy Sister back then, and the version on this disc is actually the first I ever heard. I was at that SPAC show and I went in blind, didn't listen to any of the new songs before the show. Everyone was raving about Idea of You, but I left that show enjoying Kill the King and Sister more (probably because IoY had been so overhyped)

Rowsdower
02-08-2012, 11:32 AM
If the "theme" for this release was improv, rare jams and segues, I think they missed the mark a bit with the 3 bonus songs for long time members. They could have used Don't Drink the Water from 10/1/04 with the long improv intro, maybe Prelude to Grace and Ants Marching from 7/10/04, and Grace is Gone :segue Black Water :segue Grace is Gone (reprise) from 8/1/07.

Sister is Sister, this So Damn Lucky is just too damn long, and although Ants is an old one, if they're not including Doobie Thing it's just another old Ants. These songs seem like random picks.

I think Crazy Easy and Halloween are really the only two tracks I'm excited for.

pretty sure WH just officially put the debate to bed.

Yep. In favor of the "Gravedigger intro" terminology we've all (but you) been using for 9 1/2 years now. They even went so far as to say it was the debut of the Gravedigger lyrics, an overly ambitious indulgence that I'll allow them.

It was certainly the seed of the Gravedigger idea, and as such is an interesting historical curiosity.

Exactly, and this is my point about giving us performances that are interesting, unique, or noteworthy. This fits the bill. I totally commiserate with Frank on his point about this not being one of the best Rapunzels (the ones he mentioned would also make great picks) but at least it doesn't seem like it was just plucked out of a hat with no rhyme or reason.

Man this C-E was a pie in the sky, wish they'd release it but never thought they would pick for me. Nice to have a good version of the song in SBD since all we had so far was the LT8 version which was pretty meh.

I'd like to see them, someday, revisit the "LiveTrax 'XX" concept for more years. The LiveTrax '08 disc (I think you got it as a digital download for buying tickets to a show that year) is beyond fantastic, but it ended up being a one-time deal.

For years like 2004, I'd love to see them go back and pull 9-10 great tracks from the course of the tour -- songs from shows that otherwise really don't need a full release -- and mix it up into a "live" disc.

GGT 04, that first Kill the King are great calls. I'm pretty much over the need for another 02 Kit Kat and over the need for a late 00 Raven. The You Never Know debut was pretty great, and it'd be awesome to have a mixed version of that. My favorite LIOG is still 6/11/01 with the 'Rain' interpolation, I also like the version from Hershey in 2000, 'twas solid.

Let me also add Drive In Drive Out from 7/28/00, I think that's the version that has always stuck out in my mind. I'll have to re-listen to be sure, but I'm pretty sure it's at least from that week in 2000.

i certainly understand noticing it, but i'm far from convinced there's some legal reason why they haven't had a release featuring Butch since he left,

half of the releases have been taken up with current shows as usual, dmblive is old stuff, and it seems that they've focused on older shows lately for LT too.

let's not forget how long it took to get just one show from 1997 released.

My guess is if they went digital the tracks would be mp3 only which would make a lot of people unhappy. I say give people the option, that's what Pearl Jam does now.

No, do both. Put the tracks up on the WH website in Feb or whenever they're ready, but keep mailing the discs out as usual.

We should have the option for either flac or mp3, just like dmblive.

well no. the way they identify it is a package for anyone that renewed in 2011. so they'd be setting themselves up for a lot of extra work to send out the 2011 package in 2011 then have to send stuff when people renewed before the end of the calendar year.

now, should they have this stuff planned and be able to send it in january of the following year? sure.

it's funny. back in 98 i had no real drive to see shows. just wanted the music. i joined the warehouse almost completely for "exclusive tracks". lol.

Has Baby Blue been released?

You think they'd toss on Baby Blue before another Sister. :screwy

JustinC

Baby Blue, Sleep To Dream Her, People, People & Blackjack are the only DMB songs never to be on a Live release. I Dreamed I Killed God also has never been on a release, but no D&T shows from 97 have ever been released.

I wish they would release more D&T shows. They have only released 5 shows. I really thought we would have more than two D&T releases through DMB Live.

I think 4 shows, if you don't count Vegas as a full show. But we do need some more D+T shows.

I'd love a 2001 Sleep to Dream Her. Roi was so good on that track, and lyrically, its one of Dave's best since 2001.

Really? It really doesn't get much better than "It seems so unnerving, still, somehow deserving, that she could hold my heart so tightly, and still not see me here." In the context of the song, of course.

I've always liked that one, but then, I've always been a sucker for chromatic movement in pop songs. Same thing with the bridge in YNK ("all fall down"). Gives me chills.

Yes, like they did w/ LT 20 last year. Just give it to the Warehouse members. They will still sell a bunch of copies to all the other fans, plus if they have a Deluxe package like they did w/ BW, you know Warehouse members will buy that up too.

FiddySpence

So would you then buy a copy, even though you had gotten it for free in your membership package, if there was a bonus disc or some other deluxe version?

well knowing them, they'd sell an additional version with an amazing bonus disc that wh members wouldn't get, so we'd end up having to purchase the record anyway.

which would defeat the purpose of holding back the wh package, so no thanks.
