Venue Information:
Montage Mountain Amphitheater started as a temporary facility located behind the ski lodge on Montage Mountain. In 1999, Lackawanna County built a permanent amphitheater further down the mountain. The new location has reserved seating for 7,000 people covered by the pavilion roof, with room for another 10,500 on the lawn. In 2002 the operation of the facility was taken over by Clear Channel Communications and the building became known as the Ford Pavilion at Montage Mountain. In June 2005, upon their first visit to Northeastern Pennsylvania and the Toyota Pavilion, the Dave Matthews Band became the first concert to ever completely sell out the pavilion attracting over 18,000 people. On their return in July 2006, they once again sold out the pavilion. In 2006, the entertainment group splintered away from Clear Channel, becoming a new, independent, company, Live Nation, and the amphitheatre changed name again, this time to Toyota Pavilion on Montage Mountain. On February 15, 2007, the tent roof of the pavilion collapsed under the weight of snow and ice from the previous day's Blizzard of 2007. A new roof was completed in time for the summer 2007 concert season.

Get her a pit ticket and request two for yourself in the 100's (or try for 3 pit tickets....the pit was great last time....no crowd issues whatsoever, I was pretty much 5th row in front of Boyd with tons of room)

been doing shows since 2002 and never joined the warehouse haha. I have a request in with my friend's aunt (joined 1/99) for Bethel but she is doing Montage so I'm out of luck.

I had a blast there 7.14.10 in the pit. loved the 'thank you' outro of SDL. got a classic dave jump to close the show as well.

stayed at some hotels over near some industrial buildings. it was pretty bad.

Ouch, yeah, that's not a good place. If anyone needs advice about the area, I've got you covered.

got VIP parking I hope it's worth it. First time using it @ Montage. Worked wonderfully when I used it at Bethel and Blossom so hopefully Scranton isn't any different. Knowing NEPA it probably is just a way to get extra cash.

Added bonus. Since they are re working PNC Field no baseball games, so that should be some less traffic on the mountain. I wonder if they are still going to park cars down there and bus them up with construction going on.

That's a good point....the lot has been closed since they announced the construction plans.

Parking lots open at 3pm. I know where I'll be at 3:05pm.

Also, Will-Call opens at 4pm for those with PIT tickets, and the gates to the venue should open at 5:30pm.

Although 2005 and 2006 were heavy with Stand Up tracks, they were still filled with some pretty good stuff.

Also quite happy to see a LT come out of this.

Hopefully, Dave will get another horseback ride with a state trooper just before he writes the setlist.

I'll be in the PIT first time for any DMB show. How bad is the pit for Scranton? Hoping Wednesday night show not too crazy don't feel like running to be close. I know in 2010 during the opener the PIT was half full, but with moe. opening I assume it will be a little more full.

They usually don't oversell the PIT in Scranton. I was PIT in 2010 and was about 6 people back right in front of Boyd and arrived about 10 minutes before DMB hit the stage. Maybe it'll be different this year, but who knows?

Yeah, Scranton is pretty cool. Make sure to arrive somewhat early as the parking situation gets a little crazy closer to showtime. Also, the traffic out isn't as bad as people make it out to be. Walk back to your car, hang out for 15-20 minutes and head out, you'll be fine.
