Venue Information:
Alpine Valley Music Theater is a 37,000 capacity amphitheater, in East Troy, Wisconsin. The seasonal venue was built in 1977 and it features a characteristic wooden roof, covering the 7,500-seat pavilion and a sprawling lawn.

The theatre is located roughly equidistant between Madison, Milwaukee, Rockford, and Chicago, and therefore draws a wide regional audience.

Alpine Valley is generally considered the Milwaukee stop on major tours and the Chicago stop when the act doesn't perform in Illinois.

Until 1993, when the San Manuel Amphitheater was built in California, it was the largest amphitheater in the United States.

Parking & Misc rules:

Alpine Valley Parking Rules and FAQ

For folks heading to Alpine Valley this summer, we have put together some answers to the most often asked questions. After all, everyone wants to have a good time when they head to East Troy. When you travel to the venue please remember that you are one of up to 35,000 people all heading to one place Expect delays on the roadway, and try not to stress your fellow music fans.

Alpine Valley Parking
Expect to pay $20 if you make it to the official Alpine Valley lots before they fill up. If you are heading to the venue with a larger vehicle, it can cost you upwards of $50 each. You will notice that your ticket has a "general parking" fee attached. Don't expect to find a spot reserved for your car. Get there early, and pay the extra funds for early parking. For the best spot, you would have to have a VIP pass. There is a lot designed for limousines and buses. Once your party is dropped off, tell the limo driver to park in the "limo" lot. Prices range from $75 to $100, depending on the vehicle.

Alpine Valley Box Office
The box office is not open from day to day. You can only reach a human being on the day of the show. That's mainly in the afternoon. The Alpine Valley box office does not accept checks as a form of payment. All other forms are welcome. Feel free to pick up your Alpine Valley tickets after 3pm, on the day of the show.

Items Allowed at Alpine Valley
You cannot bring your own booze into the venue. For a detailed list of what is allowed, feel free to call the box office on the day of the event. It's interesting to note, that you can bring a camera, but cannot use a flash during the show. Small children do not need a ticket, as long as they don't take an actual seat.

So I have pit tickets this year. I don't want to completely miss tailgaiting and stand for 6 hours straight, so was hoping to head in for when the opener starts. How far from the stage you think I'll get if I wait until then to head in?

pit is huge at alpine

between the stacks is a good view

if you don't mind the back of the pit (10 or so rows back) you should be fine at that time

First time in the Pit this year, question for those of you who've done it before. How full does it end up getting in there? Are people going to be stuck way on the sides of the pit (I know sight-lines are pretty bad on the sides of 101/103), or does everyone pretty much congregate in the middle and get a good view?

I was on the horns side last year in the row right behind the pit for night one. Pit was kinda empty off to the sides, so everyone kind of packs in toward the middle.

Per the FAQ online, they're allowing tailgating grills again this year (not like it stopped anyone last year).

Only 10 rows? It seems so much bigger! I'm in the pit for N2 and I'm hoping I can still see if I'm in the back. First time in the pit at Alpine.

Does anyone plan on going to the Brewers game on Sunday?

Probably.

Can we all just be glad it's not going to be hotter than the 9th ring of hell for these shows? N1 was BRUTAL last year!

The pit is only the 100 sections, only 12 rows or so back but fairly wide. Section 202 has some of the best views in the house, and the pit's in front of that.

It's great. They park you right by the entrance to the venue, and there's a separate exit that saves a ton of time after the show. Getting out of the lots at Alpine can be a nightmare.

Yeah, I did the premier parking last year. We were let out a back way after the show (through a golf course, IIRC.)

If you're in regular parking but back near the venue, we've had better luck waiting until Premier is cleared out and they start bringing regular parking out through the back. Much faster than making your way all the way across the lots to get out through the front.

So if anyone is going to the Brewers game on Sunday and can let me stash my carry on bag in their trunk during the game that'd be mighty appreciated.
