Venue Information:
First Niagara Pavilion (originally Coca-Cola Star Lake Amphitheater and formerly Post-Gazette Pavilion) is an outdoor amphitheater in Burgettstown, Pennsylvania, United States, 25 miles west of Pittsburgh. Heading here for the first time since those stellar '09 shows. Gonna drive from Blossom and stay near the airport. :upyours

Me too, looks like we are going to the same shows. I think I saw you ask about it somewhere else, but VIP parking is a must for this place and blossom. I happy about the timing of these shows, not too early not too late in the tour.

I attempted to see Mumford during the summer here. Stayed at the Hyatt Place next to PNC Park. Left 3 hrs before show time, 3.5 hours later was still 5 miles from the venue. Missed the show. Sat in traffic till 8:30 and then said fuck it. Will never go back no matter what the show.

Yeah, most people don't realize the venue is a good 30 miles outside the city. Combine that with the fact that it's on the way to a major airport and if you try to get there around rush hour (anywhere from 3-6pm), you're screwed. The construction is out of control, as well.

This year, I'll be staying near the airport, so only about 12 or so miles away.....and I'll be leaving quite early to do a good bit of tailgating.

That said, there's nothing special about the venue itself, it's your run-of-the-mill outdoor shed.

Ya gave away 4 tix +VIP parking to some kids that had lawn. I mean it was stand still traffic 30 mins after the show started. Took me 15 mins to get back to the city. It was already the 6th inning at the Pirates game so we just went to grille 36 had a few church brew works beers and walked the river.

Despite the ordeal, that's a good plan B. :nod :upyours

Didn't think I would be going to a show this year, but with the Mets in town that weekend as well, I couldn't resist the double dip. Will be our first weekend away from our newborn. Excited, bt nervous.

This will be my first game there. I hear the stadium is awesome though. Been a life long Mets fan, so when I saw they were there the same weekend, it just made sense to go. Got decent seat for the game too.

Stadium is great. By far the best I've been to. Are you staying downtown? Suburbs? Definitely go downtown and park in the garage on Penn Avenue & 6th Street and walk over the Clemente Bridge to PNC park. :upyours :nod

Any other tips you know, let me know.

We are staying in Coraopolis so that we are between downtown and the concert venue. I know getting to the amp can be rough due to traffic as well. I went to the shows there in '06 and remember how bad it was then. I saw the info on the Pirates website about parking for the game and plan on walking over the bridge. Thanks for the info!

Lots, I've heard, are open at 3:30pm

Sets, I can imagine, will be overhyped.

Excited for the weekend, nonetheless.
