Decided to do the Friday night show for my 30th birthday. I haven't been to this place since 2005....hope to see a good one for show #55 for me. Anyone ever take the RiverLink Ferry?

Easy getting across. Nightmare coming back. I stayed at the Hyatt (which was a nightmare, especially for my wife being a platinum member) and the ferry is located right behind the hotel. Easy going to Camden, not to bad of a walk to the venue. After the show was a complete nightmare. One ferry running 10,000 people back to Philly was a nightmare. We got on the 4th trip across and we waited about 90 mins in a line full of drunk impatient people.

Did you stay to the end? I'll likely skip out during the encore if that's the case....goddamn.

Yeah, you have to skip the encore (or at least be ready to start moving fast towards the exits and the river at the start of the last song of the encore) if you want to get on the ferry without waiting for 30 minutes.

I'm a-okay with that. :upyours

Thanks for the heads up.

Good advice on that ferry ride back, I took it fromnphilly to camden in 2008 but my friend drove me back into the city so I didn't get stuck in that shitshow after the show

Yes we did. Was about 5 rows back middle of the PIT so it was hard to get out. We got lucky and didn't mean to, but we cut in line and that saved us another 2 hour wait. We followed the side walk by the harbor and got there before the cops redirected everyone up the hill to the back of the line. It was a nightmare.

I've taken the ferry atleast 10 times. We either skipped the last song, or moved towards the doors and just ran to it. With effort, made it across fast each time. When we were lazy, we had to wait. The worst night catching the ferry was way better than the worst night stuck in parking lot traffic there though

Nowadays, I just park as far away from the venue as possible and I'm always back in philly with zero problems. It beats parking close or the ferry, but you gotta take that walk through the "ghetto". I live in North Philly though, so I'm used to being in shady places and the walk doesn't phase me

If nothing else, there's usually a ton of police coverage in the Camden waterfront area on concert nights.

This is what you can expect. I recommend skipping the encore completely and having a little fun on South Street once you get to the other side of the river.
