Adams’s lawyer, Andrew B. Brettler, confirms that the FBI searched the singer’s iCloud account and, he believes, the musician’s email and Facebook accounts. Adams was never interviewed by the FBI. In the end, nothing was found to prove a pattern of illegal behavior with underage girls, and the investigation was dropped in the fall of 2019. Adams’s lawyer was informed by the FBI in a phone call soon after. Ava also provided a written statement to Brettler that read, “I was not truthful about my age in my texts and communications with Ryan and I repeatedly told him I was 18. Contrary to the New York Times article, Ryan and I both freely participated equally in texts of a sexual nature with one another… Ryan is a good human being and my sole wish is that both of us have learned from this experience.” Adams understands he still faces lingering suspicion that he prowls for underage girls. “I have no history of this kind of bullshit. I love women who are tall and mean to me and smarter than me by half. This is not my pattern,” he says later, exasperated, between smokes on his back patio. “This part of it is insane.”

Does anyone have any opinions in Chris or Romeo and Juliet? I couldn’t make it through Chris on my first listen. R&J is better, but still not grabbing me. I was hoping something good and dark would come out of his recent history.

I have not heard Romeo and Juliet yet. Will get to that soon.

My understanding is Romeo and Juliet is the only "new" music from this. I believe Chris, Wednesdays, and Big Colors was all written and recorded before everything blew up.

I'm kinda meh on all 3 records. I could piece together a 12-song collection from it all I like - but as full records it doesn't capture me.

Really digging Schizophrenic Babylon on Chris.

He's kinda stuck in the 80's sound with a lot of this stuff. A few years ago he hinted at a bluegrass record with the Stringdusters. Too bad that didn't happen.

Also, his string of solo shows in the NE kicks off next week. Super bummed I couldn't swing it to get out to any. Hopefully he comes to Colorado later in the year.

Yeah, Don Was was touring with Ryan recording all the sets. Nothing out yet, but we'll see official audio at some point. Hopefully he puts out full shows and not just a compilation. Maybe both?
