Why would you do that? What did he ever do to you? Besides that, it's highly intrusive. I mean, making a big deal out of it and all. Sure, if one cared to look hard enough, the information could be found, but... posting it elsewhere just seems like a cold thing to do.

Listening to one of my favorite '95 shows: 8.23.95. Fucking love this year.

I was just listening to 12/5/95 actually. What a fun show. Last performance of Lie In Our Graves that Roi took a solo on. Really great crowd too. Also this Dave solo of Typical rounds out the top three from that year, RR, 9/3 (w/ Dionne Farris), and this one.

Honest question - does anyone know when Dave's voice started becoming less "nasally"?
The other day I was on a long drive and listened through both Crash and BTCS. I notice that somewhere between the two albums had to have been where Dave started losing a bit of the nasally sound (though he still has it to some extent). Musically, I love the older stuff, but Dave's voice always gets me. I wonder if he tried to work on his vocals a bit in the mid-late 90's? |

The recording of BTCS might have been it; I remember reading at one point, I think, that he got some kind of throat infection and had to wait a while before finishing vocal takes.

On the BTCS ultrasound doc he talks briefly about the yeast infection in his throat.

It was speculated a long time ago but never confirmed. Very cool that we now have this confirmed.

Yeah -- I feel like the "Song that developed in Soundcheck" was Proudest Monkey, but I guess it wouldn't be surprising if 41 started out the same way.

We know that for sure, right? The Route 10(?) jam or whatever, because they actually got to the venue after the show time, and held soundcheck in front of the audience?

Wow I didn't know any of that. I wondered if my ears were fooling me a bit, but cool to know his was still grounded enough with all his success to have someone help him improve his vocals. I think his best delivery/vocal work on any record is BTCS.

I wouldn't be shocked if Stefan was mixing those two up. They all date from around the same time period, if I remember. |
