Listening to every show...

Makes me think of 6/13/09. The band was in a solid groove during an album tour (had already played a lot of shows going back to the spring tour) so to get that many tour year debuts in one show was phenomenal and completely unexpected, especially considering what they were (Typical, Stone, LIOG, Jane, #40, Halloween). Each debut ramped the energy up further.

Yep, and usually I go into these shows without looking at the set. So hearing Typical start up was a pretty big surprise.

Nah you have '07 in reverse. The beginning was shitty and the end was good. Late '06 to Early '07 is probably one of the worst (if not the very worst) periods this band has ever had.

Also, I listened to Alpine 2004 over the weekend. N1 holds up, N2 is just 'meh.' Lover Lay Down was pretty sweet, but the rest was just run-of-the-mill 2004. Billies was an abortion. Continued on with Bonner Springs 2004, which contains my favorite Sugar Will of the tour. Clocks in around 13 minutes and the lyrics are pretty great. The opening #41 through Stone>Ants>Typical was pretty bad ass, as well. And now, on to 8/18/04......

Despite everything going on internally at the time, I thought the Vegas shows were pretty great.

Absolutely. I think they were the exception.

I'm listening to 8/18/04 right now and there's a guy commenting on each song practically into the taper's mics. Hilarious stuff. Trying to call songs, too: "Sugar Will?! A little Sugar WILL!?" (WWYS starts)...."WHOOOO!"

I remember people being pissed off cause those vegas shows got over hyped (as does almost every big show DMB puts on it seems) and out of 38 songs that weekend 14 were either cover songs or off Stand Up

Well it was early 2007, after only 2 Stand Up tours, and still 2 years away from BW, so of course it was still going to be SU heavy.

The covers I thought were awesome. First full band Still Water, first full band Maker in 4 years, first Time of the Season since 2005 (and last to date), 2nd and last Sweet Caroline, only full band Down By the River covers in the US without Neil Young there, etc. Lots of rare and great stuff.

This is 100% semantics, and I find it very hard to believe you didn't know what I meant.

Compare 1991-2004 and 2008-2013 with 2005-2007. Those were indeed the Stand Up tours, unless you want to be unreasonably stingy with the definition.

How about 2007 then? Despite only playing 8/14 songs, it was still the most played album by far, and it had 3 of the 10 most played songs. Did they stop touring it in 2006 then tour it again in 2007? Or is there just no way you'll ever accept anything but 2005 as a Stand Up tour no matter the statistics?
