Good song. Good performance.

A much better song without the band.

He's gotten bored and is trying every song with the most insane rhythms and parts he can come up with now.

Interesting point. Wasn't Ross posting, excited on Instagram when the orchestra came into the studio?

Btw, the Lincoln Center version is much better than this. I surges

Yeah, and I'm not basing it on anything that I know for sure, it just sounds like string arrangements that a horn player would do. The way its charted isn't how anyone with technical string arrangement knowledge would do it. That sounds so pompous and I'm not meaning it to sound that way, I Just wish Ross would stop getting so much control over things. This is of course speculation that it's him, it might just be a bad arranger

It's going to happen though.

I thought the interview was great. Loved how loosey goosey Dave was and found the story about his son hilarious from a dad's perspective.

when was the last time he performed a song to a mainstream TV audience that wasn't super cheesy or soft? was it really grey street, like 15 years ago? jesus christ. I think why I am should have gotten more mainstream play from them.

Too bad the why i am studio cut is trash. Really messed up any hope of that single doing anything.

I thought it was a nice performance, but I was underwhelmed with the strings. Wanted them to be better.

It seemed to me like a hack arrange job, most likely done the day of.

Wow....just got around to listening to the Colbert performance....very solid. I thought his voice was just fine and the string arrangement wasn't meant to be some overpowering presence. I think its a great song, and as a father it definitely has a little sentimental meaning.

He should really ditch the Band and just start putting out music ASAP.
