Yeah, I am a big fan of his. I do wish that the Trio guys were with him (along with the rest of the band) though, as his drummer sucks, and that really detracts from the performances for me.

Still, though, I'm gonna check out that tape, no doubt.

I'm Gonna Find Another You is what he closed with and you could just tell he didn't want to stop playing. I just can't explain how crazy good that playing was on that song. It went on and on. Moved the song far up my list of favorites!

i remember i paid $10 to see him at the old HoB in Cambridge back in '01. he was supposed to open for stephen kellogg but because of the weather he never showed up so john played the entire time. there were maybe 25 people there. it was a fun show.

We grabbed a set from the lighting booth and I was skeptical when I saw gravity was closing the set, cause I didn't realize they fucking rocked it. Soo good

those were fun times back in '00 - '02 being able to see his solo shows (and when he played with his bass player) and howie day and others at such small venues for such small prices.

yeah... we were all kind of weirded out by it. she didn't ask for it - he just handed it to her when we were talking to him.

speaking of fans, i saw this on perezhilton.com about an interview he did. like the guy or not, being honest is one of his traits and i thought it was pretty insightful and cool to read:
