Continuing to relisten to all albums in order...
Easy Tiger: always adored it; still do
Follow the lights: short and sweet; new tunes are wonderful
Cardinalology: love the lyrics but the music never connected as others do

I really enjoy both ET and Cardinalogy. Some of the songs towards the end are a bit chill, but lots to like with them IMO.

Pretty much agree with this. ET is OK for me.

Follow the Lights is a great little record. Love that Dear John and Stranger, especially.

III/IV - loved it when it was first released and still do. PS is a fave
Ashes and Fire - it's decent. I saw RA at Carnegie Hall this tour, so I have that attachment to it.
ITunes session - not bad; I don't like the new song on it though
Live after deaf - I found the downloads with bonus tracks; great stuff; I only listened to the first show (Cork) and thought it was great

Next up S/T...

I'm envious, he has completely fallen out of love with Atlanta...every show has been a bullshit festival gig since The Cardinals broke up.

I hate festivals so much, so I feel ya there.

I'm really surprised by this too. Announced today, tickets on sale tomorrow, show Monday. Venue only holds about 600 people.

So there's a new song on the latest Jason Isbell record that's absoultely inspired by Adams. Lyrics here. You can hear it here, it's called Chaos and Clothes.

References to I See Monsters, Love is Hell, black-metal t-shirts and the jackass lead singer of Dawes.

Lyrics
Spoiler:

The ground was wet and the sky was dark
You took her bet, she took your heart
Wrapped it 'round an oak tree
Like you did that '67 GTO
Oh no

Lovers leave chaos and clothes
In quiet corners where you rarely ever go
One day you find proof that she was real
Despite your struggle to forget
Oh yes

You're in a fight to the death my friend
Black metal t-shirts your shield
You've got the past on your breath my friend
Now name all the monsters you've killed
Let's name all the monsters you've killed

The man she chose to take your place
Turns his collar up to better frame his face
How you'd love to hate her
But you just can't hate somebody you don't know
Oh no

Did she leave a trail of crumbs
So you could find you're what you could become
Or did she know you well enough
To realize that garden just won't grow?
Oh no

You're in a fight to the death my friend
Airways a grand battlefield
You've got the past on your breath my friend
Now name all the monsters you've killed
Let's name all the monsters you've killed

In my sleep I build machines
But nobody ever wants to hear about my dreams
Last night I saw a burning Ferris Wheel
The meaning's anybody's guess
Oh yes

Lovers leave chaos and clothes
More debris that you can sort through in one go
You say love is hell
But it's the ghost of love that's made you such a mess
Oh yes

You're in a fight to the death my friend
Fight like you're chained to the wheel
You've got your past on your breath my friend
Now name all the monsters you've killed
Let's name all the monsters you've killed

I was wondering what someone earlier was referring to as the "RA song."

I skipped S/T and revisited 48 Hours and the Suicide Handbook. Incredible discs. In to Destroyer (which I recall not enjoying too much save Dreaming's Free!

He's dating Mandy Moore now.

I actually enjoyed their first two records, but it's been way downhill since.

Leaving work now for the show tonight - can't wait!

Man, RA has been off his rocker lately, attacking other musicians and such. Perhaps I simply missed it but apparently Jason Isbell's song "Chaos and Clothes" is about RA and he popped off on Twitter to John Mayer about it...so bizarre.

Never a dull moment. Hopefully it isn't a substance abuse thing - he's been "clean" for a while now

Agreed, I don't think he's ever gonna not be. Yeah, I think Mayer handled it well.

In addition to the Father John Misty dust up, RA got into it with Har Mar Superstar as well after HMS told him to chill out on Twitter.

That was my first thought when the Strokes thing began a few weeks ago.

He's got a new single coming out - looks like tomorrow

Preview here: [Only registered users can see links.]

I think it's interesting. Lots going on. Bass is really solid. He's been on a big beatles kick, and I think there's an influence in there. Always happy to hear new music from Ryan.
