I hope it’s a short commute with minimal traffic.

This sums up my feelings of the band perfectly

The problem was really Batson's approach, he took any idea and was way too quick to label it "a song" or "a great idea". That Hunger riff was probably the very first thing that Stefan played when he picked up the guitar and he was like "that's it!", let him play around on it for an extra 10-20 minutes probably would have come up with some something more interesting. I actually thought Batson's approach was unique and interesting in and of itself, but it's just too hit or miss to actually work. Not every single idea is good, and sometimes it takes some warming up to actually get to a great idea.

That "American Baby" opening riff is some of Boyd's best plucking he's ever done...

How about Stefan spend 20 hours playing at home, come up with something really great/interesting and bring it into the studio? Batson was giving them too much credit to create gold on the spot. How did the same guys who made the first three albums become so unless?

I recently watched the BTCS ultrasound. Simply put, dave was inspired. I think he was with the LWS and the band rejected it. I don’t think dave ever recovered from that.

Some devil is his best collection of work since the LWS and it was independent. I think Dave put an honest effort towards big whiskey, but the dynamics of the band was so different by then that the final product was mostly meh.

He’s now old and rich and happier with his family than his work. Maybe down the road his hunger as a musician will come back, but I think for now he feels he’s earned his place and he just does whatever he wants.

Beck is the only artist that I can think of right now that has put out good music consistently over a 20 year span. His only dud imo was modern guilt...
